Fantastic old large tureen in the Blue Fluted pattern, made by Royal Copenhagen. This antique piece has marks on both the lid and base that date it to 1889-1923; it is also numbered 1/214. Note the elaborate deep blue finial and also the decoration inside the bowl. The piece is in very good condition except for some damage on the top side of one of the handles of the base. When the lid is in place, the damage is barely visible. The pictures depict the damage viewed from both sides of the handle. In the combination picture, the top one shows the upper side of the handle and the lower one the underside. The lid has a small (few mm) glaze pop on it, that was apparently made when the piece was fired. This is an extremely hard piece to find in this pattern and is a wonderful piece of antique Royal Copenhagen. Length: 12"; Height (of base):4"; Height with lid on:~ 8" |
