Attractive hand-painted antique reticulated Meissen plate. This plate is rather deep and has three quatrafoils, which are raised and gilded along their edges, and lie within the reticulated portions of the rim. What is not terribly apparent in the pictures is that the blue and gold trimmed lattice work between the center well of the plate and its rim, is also raised. The plate has an old blue underglazed Meissen crossed-swords mark and number(33). It also has several impressed numbers (50, 90, 81). The gilding is in very good condition, showing only very minimal wear. Diameter ~8 inches. |
