This antique twisted handle sterling spoon is either a mote spoon or a pierced olive spoon and its maker is unknown. This sterling spoon is marked 925/1000 and has a twisted handle that ends in a barbed spike that looks like an arrow. The bowl of the spoon has floral repousse. Most mote spoons were pierced (see #L084 above) and so this may be a pierced olive spoon, but has frequently been described as a mote spoon. Length: 8¼ inches. |
