Circa: 1958 Condition: Very Good
Restaurant Name: The Pancake House
Location: Junction of Hi-way 14 & 30, Marshalltown, Iowa Date stated: 1958
Artwork: Outside shows a chart for the ‘Kiddi-See Game’ with directions inside for playing in the car. Usual sites on a trip are included (cow, pig, diesel train, horse, windmill, geese, boat, silo, church, car and trailer, rabbit, flag, etc.) and the child is directed to make a check mark on the line by the picture each time that object is seen.
Size: 7.5 by 7.5 inches.
Description: Single page of card stock, printed on both sides. Five columns inside detail the various kinds of pancakes served; one additional column provides information on the waffles, omelettes, side orders, fruits and juices, breakfast cereals and beverages available. Intermingled with the food items is information reprinted from the July 4, 1860 (? Year is difficult to read) edition of The Marshall Times, local newspaper. It covers local, state and national news items of the day, including Abraham Lincoln’s name on the Republican ballot for president.
Condition: The menu is Very Good condition with few signs of use. A vertical crease appears near center of the menu page. There are no tears, stains or pencil marks. Because of the small typeface, some parts of this are difficult to read.
