Size: 8.5 by 10 inches folded; opens to 17 by 10 inches. Description: Wonderful introduction to the traditional Swedish Smorgasbord Dinners. ‘To unaccustomed palates the Smorgasbord is surprisingly rich: so I is best to sample a little of each and return to those which have been particularly takes your fancy. It is what it took Scandinavians five hundred years to create.’ Includes extensive history and description of the special dinners, the customs and protocols. Features numerous Swedish foods named in original language.
Features and Specials: Luncheon was 75 cents, including appetizer (Fresh Lobster Canape or Norwegian Herring Salad on the Shell) or soup; entrée (Broiled Lake Superior Whitefish, Baked Stuffed Deviled Crab, Omelette with Jumbo Shrimp Poulette, Cold Chicken Sandwich, Krustader Filled with Chicken Livers and Mushrooms or Grilled Spring Lamb Chop), vegetable, salad, dessert and drink. Kungsholm Monday Special was Swedish Veal Birds, Braised in Riesling Wine (Kalv Kyckling med Graddsas och Lingon.) Smorgasbord with above entrees, dessert and coffee was $1.00. An extensive appetizer, wine and cocktail list is printed on the back cover.
Condition: The menu is near mint condition with few signs of use. There is one slight discoloration along opening edge of front cover. There are no creases, tears, stains or pencil marks.
