This is the finest Edwardian shawl I have had in a very long time. The delicate arts and crafts motif embroidery is done in a very pale pink or lavender and a pale green. The embroidery is done on a cream white silk. There is a sheer overlay fabric in a golden bronze color but it is very soft and muted. The detail work on this shawl is exquisite. The embroidery runs along the border on the cream side of the shawl. Then it is picked up on the outside of the shawl along the arm. This embroidery is muted by the overlaying fabric. Two very long tassels in a navy blue and gold thread add weight to the shawl. You could wear the shawl on both sides. The shawl measures 74 inches long and 19 inches wide. Each tassel measures 11 inches long. There are 2 holes in the overlay fabric. When the shawl is gathered you will not see the holes. This is a find for any Edwardian collector or arts and crafts collector.
