I am really not sure how best to describe this Marble Base Brass/Ormulu Ink Well. The ink well is signed Ramboud S-LP on one of the sides of the ornate ink well. Also on the base it has SUSSE PRES and under that 11. On the other side of the Ink well on the ormulu it has Susse Frs Edrs.
The base is very very heavy and is 8 5/8 inches square. The actual ink well is 6 inches not counting the base. The antique dealer who originally looked at this many years ago told me it has 'Acanthus Leaves' in a 'Love Trophy'. There is no glass well in the piece, and the ink well is hinged. It is in very good condition, and I have not cleaned it. |
