This hallmarked STERLING SILVER match safe is in excellent condition for the age. There are light scratches and minor dings. It measures 2 inche across and 1/2 inch thick. It has very small hallmarks on the inside lip of the lower part. It has the letters "OSW" then "925" then the hallmark of Leopard's Head then the Lion Passant then the capital letter "E". From my research this piece was made in London sometime between 1400 and 1583, which make it over 400 years old. |
