Circa: mid-late 1800's Condition: Good++ Manufacturer: unknown
Offering this solid, primitive hand carved oak scoop. It is one piece construction 15.5" long overall, the scoop section is 10" x 5" at the largest points. A nice flarred mouth will lend itself well to scooping coffee, grain, corn, or similar bulk products. The handle area is big enough for about any hand to wrap around firmly. The carving is well done, good lines and form. It has a nice patina, darkened with age, smooth, and clean with the exception of what appears to be some maroon color candle wax inside in a few places. There is no cracks or damage, well preserved. A unique primitive scoop overall! |
