Circa: mid-1800's Condition: Good++
This is a rare antique crosscut hand saw marked "GREAT WESTERN" on the blade etch that can be seen but is rather lite. This is a good useable saw with a good straight blade, no missing teeth, the teeth are sharp, and the handle fits well to the blade. The handle is also in very nice shape, no cracks, and has only two brass screws holding it in place and no medallion screw. The straight back blade is 25.3" long and has 7 teeth per inch, or 7 TPI. There is some minor pitting noted on the blade, nothing that would cause issues with use. We also note the nib on the straight back, a sign of being a mid to late 1800's antique hand-saw. |
