Circa: 1920's-50's Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: GREENLEE ROCKFORD ILLINOIS
This is a very nice, clean, and usable 8" wide blade, carpenter's draw knife marked, "GREENLEE RELIANCE" on the main beam. This is a nicely made tool with well fastened wood handles that have the steel ferrules and steek end caps on the ends to contain the wood, plus a steel section of the knife goes through the center of each wood handle. The cutting edge is very sharp and ready to use, with plenty of stock left for future use also. Note: The blade has not been sharpened straight from side to side over the years as you can see in the photo there is a bit of a dip near the center of the cutting edge. But depending on your application, this may not be an issue. There is a few minor pitted areas in small spots, but not in the cutting edge area. A very nice clean edge tool overall! |
