3 Inch McKusick Gila Pottery Tile of a Road Runner A well executed 3 inch tile of a roadrunner standing on the desert floor along with some grasses. This is a classic McKusick tile in more unusual size. Has a nice back mark also.

8-1/2" Franklin Cowboy on Horseback Leading Foal Tile - Mountains - Desert A great self framed tile made by Franklin Tile of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Tile has Cowboy on Horseback leading a foal, in the background there are mountains, in the foreground is a cactus and more of what looks to be a desert scene. The tile measures 8-1/2 " square and is 3/8" in thickness. The back is the classic Franklin and has what appears to be the factory numeric marks of C-501 with a side ways S ( see photo ). There is a small edge chip on the lower left measuring 1/8" x 1/4" some edge roughness. Field of tile is in very good condition.

3 Inch Tile Desert House Crafts of a Quail A 3 inch tile of a quail on a beautiful turquiose background done by Desert House Crafts of Tucson, Arizona. I would date the piece to the mid 1960's. Although unmarked the piece is classic Desert House Crafts quality and subject matter.

3 Inch McKusick Gila Pottery Tile of Gambles Quail A 3 inch tile done by the McKusicks in Globe, Arizona. The tile is of a Gambles Quail in a small patch of desert grasses.

The tile has an impressed back mark which is partially covered by a sticker that once held a hanger, these sticker / hangers were applied by the McKusicks most likely.

Minton China Works Footed Trivet Young Family at Rabbit Hutch This blue transfer ware Minton tile shows a young family standing at a rabbit hutch with the boy tending to the rabbit while the mother holds the infant. Tile is 6 inches square and stands 7/8 inch high. Flea bites around edges and at blanket of the baby, still displays nicely.

6 inch Tin Framed Roadrunner Tile-Framed by Louella Stevens This tile of a runner roadrunner is well done with nice details. You can always tell the tile that Charmion McKusick decorated. She was a stickler for the details. The frame was most likely made by Louella Stevens. This tile measures 6 1/4 inches square and is just shy of 1/2 inch in thickness.

Mimbres Quail Tile Copper Box Made at Desert House Crafts Tucson, Arizona This fabulous little box was made at Desert House Crafts in Tucson, Arizona in the 1960's The inseted tile is of a Mimbres Quail on a more unusual ( for DHC ) green background. Box measures 3-5/8 inches square and is 2-1/8" in height. The interior is concave to make object removal easier. Many people used these for stamps.

The tile measures just shy of 3 inches square and is 1/2 inch in thickness. The original cork backing is present with some losses on edges and was shellacked. The ink stamp is present.

3 Inch McKusick Gila Pottery Baby Parrots Tile This is a 3 inch square tile of 2 baby parrots facing each other on a turquiose background. The back is impressed with the McKusick stamp. At one point this tile had the cork backing which was removed, revealing the stamped mark.

This is definately not one of McKusicks more common pieces.

There is a small chip on the upper left corner area.

I am unsure whether this tile is of a parrot or a Zia Pueblo bird.
The back is stamped DHC Hand Made.
