Made by Maw & Company, England - ca 1875, this rare tile is one in a series of 6 tiles entitled / The Hanging of the Crane / , by Longfellow. This is molded in medium to high relief. The color is a goldish/green with a majolica glaze, with some iridescence to the glaze (hard to capture in photos). Measures 6 inches X 6 inches and is 5/8 of an inch thick. The tile is in really wonderful condition, with only the most minor of edge and surface wear. A worthy addition to any tile or pottery collection. ( T1130F )
