This is a set of 4 Art Nouveau tiles made by Maw & Company, England, ca 1900. Each tile measures 6" square. The design is spectacularly highlighted by the use of iridescent luster (aka lustre) glazes of oranges/golds/browns. This wonderful tile is shown on page 108 of the book "Fired Earth - 1000 Years of Tiles in Europe". Three of the 4 tiles have a larger leaf wrapping up around the right side of the central flower. One has the leaf wrapping around the left side. All tiles are in outstanding condition. (#3261)
