This hand colored aquatint engraving was published by William Miller on Albermarle Street (London) England, on January 1st, 1805. From a painting by William Henry Pyne, from the "Costume of Great Britain". Depicts a boy on a horse, speaking with another man carrying a basket - dog in foreground and a cart and driver with a cow in the background.. This is No. 58. Measures 9" x 13" - framed measures 10 3/4" x 15". We also have "The Baker" from this series (see additional photo showing both). According to Wikipedia, "William Miller was one of the leading English publishers of the early 19th century". Gesso frame - tiny chips. |
