Manufacturer: Vintage Rhinestone Costume Jewelry
A bright and sparkly find out of a home. This is a vintage costume jewelry pin in the shape of a ribbon bow, made of gold tone metal (it is not real gold) with red paint or enameling (from the pattern in the red we believe it to be enamel, but are not experts) with clear rhinestones.
We don't know the metal used here, this piece does not stick to a magnet so it could be brass. It is an open weave bow in a nice larger size, measuring about 2 3/4 inches greatest length and about 1 1/4 inches greatest width or height. So it's large enough to stand out on a dress, sweater, scarf or coat.
All design elements are trimmed with the gold-tone metal. The red coloring is within the outlines of the ribbon of the bow, with the paste rhinestones (these are likely glued, they are not bracketed or set) adorning the middle of the ribbon pieces. All rhinestones are present and appear firm, all in clear sparkling condition.
There is no manufacturer or country of origin marking on this older costume piece, so we can't tell you who made this or when. However, from the older home this came out of, we believe it to be a vintage jewelry piece.
We've provided 8 images to show front and back sides. Given the high reflection of the camera lighting on the rhinestones, we've also included one image without the camera light, this makes the piece appear darker but may help in viewing some of the detail. There is also one image with a quarter for size comparison. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.
Excellent condition, ready to wear and enjoy. This has a standard clasp closure on the backside that turns easily. The pin back stick is somewhat bowed or curved in shape, but this may be how it was made, we're not sure, it does not look bent.
While this could certainly be used as an attractive Christmas time or holiday festivities pin, the great look could be worn any time of the year. An eye-catching vintage piece that would brighten any darker piece of clothing. |
