Manufacturer: Ekco Baking Items
Neat find out of a home, a vintage square baking pan in the 7 1/2 inch size. This was made by Ekco in their Ovenex Perfect Bakeware line and is fully marked. On the interior bottom in raised letters it states "Made in U.S.A., Ovenex Perfect Bakeware". On one exterior side panel in raised letters is stated "Ekco No. 600".
Low tin pan standing about 1 1/8 inches in height. This piece is tin and not aluminum as a magnet does stick to this (magnets won't stick to aluminum). This was likely made in the 1940's from some internet research, but we don't know the age for certain. The tin has an all-over waffle pattern or checked pattern. The upper rim tin is curled over and attached to the sides to provide a smooth top rim. In the four exterior corners the metal is folded over into a triangular shape like one could do when wrapping a package with wrapping paper.
We've provided 8 images to show from differing angles plus close-ups of the two markings. This piece is an all-over medium/dark gray in color or it has an all-over, uniformly tarnished look (not having tarnished lines and spotting). Most of the images were shot with the camera light to better show condition, but the light causes white "hot spot" reflections on the tin and changes the coloringm lightening it a lot. So we also included several images shot without the camera light which appear yellower but give you a better idea of the darker color you will see in person. Please look across all the images to get the best idea of this piece and use the zoom feature to examine closely.
Very nice used condition, with no chips, cracks, dents, pieces missing. This piece was likely used and shows some rust spotting in varied places, not bad overall but there in some areas. There is other evidence of age/wear/use via some scratches, some dark dots/spots, other general wear, but really nothing bad here. This old kitchen piece has a great look that supports believability of age.
A fun addition to any collection of vintage kitchen baking items or a general collection of kitchen utensils, gadgets, tools, etc. Would also look great on display in a bakery or restaurant or repurposed for other decor/uses.
Please note that we have many other kitchen items listed separately for sale. If you wish to purchase more than one, please e-mail us before placing the order since the shipping information has been inputted for a purchase of just one and will not calculate the savings you would get when purchasing more than one shipped together in the same package (we would be pleased to handle this for you). |
