Manufacturer: Haeger Pottery
Lovely vintage mid-century marked Haeger Pottery footed flower pot or planter with a pedestal base. Matte glaze in a sage or light olive green color with a speckled darker dot all-over pattern. Main bowl has a nicely molded vertical rib pattern which cinches in prior to base.
Stands about 5 inches tall with a top diameter of about 6 inches and a top opening diameter of about 5 1/4 inches, standing on a smaller round base with a diameter of about 3 1/8 inches. As with many pottery or ceramic pieces, this piece is heavy for its size, weighing 23 ounces unpacked.
We've provided 8 images to show from varied angles with a close-up of the Haeger USA stamped marking on underside base. Please note that the camera lighting creates white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth surfaces. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.
Lovely condition out of a home. We don't see significant evidence of use so we are not sure if this piece was ever used. Clean inside and out with slight evidence of wear possibly from handling, dusting, etc. over time. No major chips, cracks or crazing. There are many made in manufacture pin/pit dots, many of which show as tiny white pin dots in the glaze. There is a tiny surface flake or very low chip through the glazing along the top inner rim measuring about 1/16 inch in width. Along one outer side near the top rim there are some rubbed white spots somewhat in a light rectangular fashion (please see second image), some tiny interior white rubbed/scratched spots, underside base mars which look made in manufacture, etc. light wear expected for an older piece, but nothing bad to worry about here.
Terrific to use or display in a popular 1960s/70s light green coloring. |
