Manufacturer: Etienne Aigner
Fun find out of a home. A small zipper closure vintage change purse in the shape of a pineapple. This was made by Eitenne Aigner, with this impressed marked on the backside of the purse.
Per some material tags on the inside of the zippered section which are hard to read, this piece is made of 100% vinyl and was made in China. It measures 4 inches in length x 2 5/8 inches in greatest width of the pineapple and about 7/8 inch in depth.
Nicely made with an overall medium brown color and lighter stitching to mimic the lines and markings seen on a pineapple. There are tiny green beads sewn where these lines intersect, all on the front side of this piece (the backside is plain except for the Etienne Aigner mark and insignia). Green vinyl is used for the leafy top of the pineapple and the large, easy to pull zipper tag. The inside of the purse is lined with an ivory or off white smooth fabric. There is also a small looped vinyl piece on the upper backside, perhaps to permit running a chain, string or thin cord through this so this purse could be hung on something else for ease in carrying.
While this came out of a home, it just doesn't really show evidence of use or wear so it may never have been used, we can't know for certain. It is in excellent condition, with no tears, large worn areas, pieces or beads missing, etc. We see one tiny dot of white on the brown vinyl at the very bottom front side of the pinepple which can be seen in some images and is a very tiny spot of wear to the vinyl here, but nothing else jumps out. It may have some other very minor storage wear, but this is a lovely piece ready to use and enjoy. Please examine the images closely using the zoom feature. |
