DECADES

HERE IS A TOPPER WORTHY OF FRED ASTAIRE. IT IS A SUPERB MEN'S ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY VICTORIAN ERA BEAVER TOP HAT. WONDERFUL CONDITION. THE GROSSGRAIN RIBBON ON BRIM'S EDGE AND THE WIDE HATBAND ARE LIKE NEW.

INSIDE THERE IS A TAN LEATHER BAND, AND THE LINING IS MADE OF CREAM COLOR SILK SATIN.

HATS OF THIS CALIBER ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND. SUCH A HAT COULD HAVE BEEN BOUGHT ONLY BY A VERY WEALTHY GENTLEMAN. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN CUSTOM MADE FOR SOMEONE IMPORTANT. IT WAS DEFINITELY A VERY EXPENSIVE ITEM, MADE OF REAL BEAVER FUR. IT POSITIVELY SHIMMERS AND GLEAMS.

THIS IS A CHAPEAU FOR A WHITE TIE AFFAIR.

SIZE IS MARKED 7 1/8. IT MEASURES JUST ABOUT 22 5/16 INCHES INSIDE. THE CROWN MEASURES 6 INCHES TALL AND THE BRIM IS ABOUT 2 INCHES WIDE.
