More Than McCoy

Manufacturer: A
Antique stoneware steam table jars. Both for one price. These have incised 'A' mark as well as a cobalt blue 'A' mark. No chips or cracks; one has a little gouge in the bottom which doesn't show when upright; see pic #8. Red Wing and Zanesville made steam table jars; see the books but I do not know which company used an 'A' mark. Whoever it was must not have been in business very long because nothing shows up on my net research. Age est: 1800's-early 1900's. The lids might be birds eye maple. Only the lids are showing age; I put some wood oil on them to clean and preserve the wood. The jars in the books are not shown with lids but these jars were purchased with these lids on them. The jars without lids on are 6 tall x 5.5 wide. You could use them as unique utensil holders or as a coffee and tea jars. Neat old jars. Any info on which company the 'A' stands for, please contact me. Email me your zip code prior to ordering for a more accurate ship quote. 9/14
