  • Belden Machine Slate Hammer Pick Puller Rare

Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: BELDON MACHINE CO. NEW HAVEN CONN.
This is a very good old slate roofing hammer marked by the maker in cast lettering, "BELDON MACHINE CO. NEW HAVEN CONN." with bell shape logo with the letters "DEN" inside the bell. The handle is nice, made of a group of leather washers that are pressed together by a brass nut at the handle end of the hammer (as from the factory). The handle is very solid with no major damage, as you can see there is a two leather washers that have a small bite taken out of them, but still plenty of leather there to use this tool for many years to come.  There is only minor darkening of the steel on the hammer face to report, otherwise clean and nice! The hammer, claw, and pick head ends are all in very good condition, each with very minor wear. A ready to use, quality slate hammer! The hammer measures 11.5" long x 9.5"wide.
