Circa: mid-late 1800
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: BLECKMANN
Offering this a very nice clean 9.5" long wing divider marked "BLECKMANN" on the side of one legs, near the pivot joint in very small stamped steel letting (in photo). This one has very little wear, nice clean metal surfaces, no rust, and has good sharp points, very good pivot joint, ready to use. We do note a few areas that appear as metal cracks, few tiny, but this is how the steel was form and hammered into place. None of these tiny fold line are effecting the use of the tool or any of it's features. Features the fine adjustment, all steel pivot joint. All the screws and threads are in very good shape, including the good spring for the adjustment feature. One of the nicest we have seen in this style from the mid-1800's era! We did look up the name Bleckmann in the Toolmaker's directory for the 1800's era. We found this name listed as a maker of many types of cast tools, however they apparently didn't mark their tools with a location other than U.S.A., so we don't known what city their plant was in, or dates of operation. We can tell by the way this tool is made, that it was from the 1800's era.
