Circa: 1880+
Manufacturer: Zeh, Scherzer & Co.
Z. S. & Co. Bavarian cake platter. c.1880-?. Very striking platter/cake plate made by Zeh, Scherzer & Co. of Bavaria, Germany. This good sized cake plate/platter has the green backstamp which is shown as mark 'N' in Kovels book of marks, pg. 195: the backstamp reads: 'Irene', which is the pattern name I believe, and Z.S. & Co. over Bavaria. No chips or cracks; some very minor tiny scratches visible only under a strong lamplight, and two tiny pits in the surface that are less than pin head size, and are glazed over. It features beautiful pink roses and gold border. It is 11.75 one way x 11 wide. Great to use or display! Or, give it as a housewarming or hostess gift just add brownies! Very shabby chic!
