Circa: 1903
Manufacturer: Cambridge Glass
The Cambridge Glass Co. made pressed glass patterns circa the early 1900's. They began marking pieces with the embossed near cut mark circa 1903. I was not able to identify the particular pattern, but I believe Cambridge was the only company to use the near cut mark. This beautifully faceted butter dish has an attractive bell shaped dome lid and gilt trim. The bottom plate measures 7" wide and the butter dish stands 5" high to the top of the finial.
Both the bottom and top are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or discolorations. There are not any nicks to the edge of the "teeth" surrounding the plate or on the inside rim of the top or the flange. There is some wear to the gold trim.
