Anticus Antiques

Circa: Circa 1849
Condition: Used
Country of Origin: GB
Manufacturer: Padley, Parkin & Co
Very elegant large candelabra in the classical shape with curving arms, gadrooned and reeded edges. Flame finial to centre. Removing the top gives you a large single candlestick. Item measures 48 cm high and 40 cm wide. The base is 14 cm diameter. Made in OSP (Old Sheffield Plate) (silver fused on copper) with a little of the copper bleed showing through on the edges. This is a really lovely piece, and has sufficient height so that the candles would not be in your line of vision across a dining table. It has a maker's mark on the side of the base - the stamp is a hand, the mark of Padley, Parkin & Co of Sheffield, and appears to be their mark from the period circa 1849. Heavy item, Courier delivery.
