A Time Remembered

Circa: 1950
Condition: Used
Manufacturer: Made in Japan
This set of 4 Confederate and Union Soldiers from the American Civil War (1861 to 1865) are made of cast iron and the Confederate soldier has a foil label that is marked: Made in Japan. I
I found these at an estate sale in a box full of old cast iron toys. I have researched them online and none of them have these Japan stickers so whether it was put on by mistake or was transferred from one of the other items in the box I will have to let the buyer decide. They also list these figures as door stops or bookends............
The set includes:
Ulysses S. Grant (born Hiram Ulysses Grant; April 27, 1822 - July 23, 1885) who was the 18th President of the United States (1869-1877). As commanding general, Grant led the Union Armies to victory over the Confederacy in the American Civil War, which ended shortly after Robert E. Lee surrendered to him at Appomattox in 1865 and he measures 7 7/8 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches deep,
a Union soldier who measures 7 1/4 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches deep,
Robert Edward Lee (January 19, 1807 - October 12, 1870) was an American soldier best known for commanding the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until his surrender in 1865 and
a Confederate soldier who measures 7 1/4 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep.
Also Grant is marked with the #2, Lee is marked with the #4 and the Union soldier is marked with the #1.
Each figure weighs approximately 3 pounds except for General Lee who weighs 3 pounds 2 ounces.
In very good condition they all have their original paint which shows wear from age which I have shown in my pictures.
