This original postcard is from the 1939 New York World's Fair which was held in New York City, New York. It is in very good condition. The front features "The Central Mall". The reverse features a postcard format, which is used & has postage and there is a paragraph that says "This picture shows the Central Mall of the New York World's Fair, a 2,000-foot esplanade lined with 250 trees and hundreds of benches arranged alongside five lagoons. The latter form setting for groups of sculptured symbolical figures, the huge portrait statue of George Washington at his inauguration, the largest Sun Dial in the world, and at top the Perisphere, largest ball ever constructed by mankind, and the Trylon, a 65-story triangular shaft. About 25 of the largest exhibit buildings face upon the tree-lined area". This postcard is by "C.T. Art-Colortone, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off., Made by Curt Teich & Co. and measures approx. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
