A190

Antique Eapg Rare Thompson Glass Bow Tie Cake Stand Also known as American Bow Tie, this attractive pattern was produced by the Thompson glass Co. of Uniontown, Pa in 1889. This very rare cake stand in this hard to find pattern features the pattern on the stem and foot as well as the plate. This beautiful high standard cake stand measures 9" wide and 6 1/8" tall.

This cake stand is in excellent condition. There are some untensil marks on the plate surface, not very noticeable unless held up to the light. There is also some mould edge roughness around a lip edge that surrounds the plate, this is not noticeable at all to the eye but can be felt if you run your finger around the edge of that lip. There is a wafer of glass at the top of the stem where the plate is attached to the stem. There is a manufacturing flaw that looks like the wafer was scraped and appears rough edged. This can't be seen unless you are looking underneath the plate at that spot.
Circa: 1889
