2069

Vintage 1929 KPM China Germany Kingsly Tea Cup & Saucer Inside Floral Very pretty vintage tea cup and saucer made by KPM China in Germany in their Kingsly pattern. Both pieces are marked on the underside bases with the crown & KPM in green, followed by the Kingsly pattern name in script in red. Under this in red is "U.S. Patent No. 77,445, Germany". This patent number dates to 1929. We got this out of a home where the former owner said a relative had gotten this pre WW II (World War II, WW2), and given the Germany country name this makes sense, so we believe these were made ca. 1929 - 1930's.

We purchased a partial set of this KPM Kingsly china containing several types of pieces. We have 4 of these teacup & saucer sets, all matching (the images are of one of these sets). We've listed each cup & saucer set as being sold separately and the price shown is for one set, in case people want just one set to add to their cup & saucer collection. We would be pleased to sell you more than one cup & saucer set, please see note at the bottom of this listing.

White base porcelain (these pieces are translucent) or bone china. These are both decorated with a pale yellow background color, multi-color flowers (which looks to include tulips, chrysanthemums, etc., with lots of green leaves), a scroll & geometric shaped banding, green & navy blue trim near the outer edge including a dot pattern, & gold trim. The main decoration appears on the topside of the saucer and the interior of the teacup. The outside of the teacup has a scroll & geometric band as well as a nicely curved handle on one side painted gold. The design looks to be largely a transfer, with probably hand painting for the gold and perhaps for some of the other decorative colors, we're not sure.

Saucer has a slightly lowered or indented section in the middle for seating the cup (which has the scroll & geometric band trim and a large floral grouping in the center), then smoothly curves upwards towards the edge, measuring about 5 3/4 inches diameter and sitting about 13/16 inch in height. The cup is basically round, curving outward and upward from the base, with a top opening diameter of about 4 inches and a total width to the outside of the handle of about 4 11/16 inches. The cup sits about 2 inches in height. The two older pieces together sit about 2 1/4 inches total height.

We've provided 8 images to show from varied angles including one of the manufacturer marking. The camera light creates white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth surfaces. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely. Together these two pieces weigh almost 8 1/2 ounces unpacked.

Very nice overall vintage condition with no cracks, crazing, or utensil marks, but there is indication of age and age wear. The condition varies slightly by piece/set, but all are similar. There is gold wear on these pieces which you can clearly see on all the cup handles, particularly on the lower part in the middle. The handle was meant to be all gold but there is a good bit of paint wear here (on the handles, perhaps 50-55%+ of the gold remains, again this varies by cup). However the gold line edge trim on the rims of the cups and saucers look terrific with only slight touches of wear, having 90-95%+ of the gold remaining there. The floral and scroll/geometric band coloring looks bright overall, but there are some tiny touches of wear, particularly on the scroll/geometric band (this is seen clearest on the saucers perhaps due to rubbing from placing the cup), but not bad with 90-95% of the overall colors on the cups & saucers still there. On the underside of some saucers on the base rim on which they sit, there are a number of very, very tiny flakes or very low chips, but no large chips on these pieces. Elsewhere on the underside saucer there may be a small very light brown line stain with perhaps a nearby similar dot stain. None of these pieces look very used on the topsides/insides, but perhaps this staining is a bit of underside coffee staining, we don't know (nothing you would see on display or in use). There are some pin/pit/raised dots in the porcelain, some stray paint dots/spots, a few tiny scratches on the outside of the cups and perhaps on the saucers (there could be light scratches we are missing but not bad, we had to look at an angle in bright light to find these), and perhaps some other slight minor age wear.

A very displayable and usable teacup & saucer set from this attractive KPM Kingsly china pattern.

Please Note: If you are interested in more than one cup & saucer or other items, please contact us before inputting the order. We'd be pleased to combine multiple items for shipment in one box, if possible, to save you on postage. The system won't automatically combine shipping, and will quote as if each item/listing is shipped separately. We would be happy to provide the combined shipping costs for you.

Click for more detail...

2071

1940s Royal Bayreuth China Germany US Zone Tea Cup & Saucer Roses Neat find out of a home. This is a vintage china teacup & saucer set marked on the underside of both pieces as made by Royal Bayreuth in the Germany US Zone. This latter indicates these were made following World War II (WW2, WW II) in that portion of the former Germany which was allocated to occupation by the United States (Germany was split up into four occupation zones). The US Zone existed from 1945 to 1949, so these pieces were made during the second half of the 1940's.

Striking set using a predominately black background (white is used for the interior of the cup and the slightly indented center of the saucer where the cup sits) with gold line edge trimming and gold on the outward stretched handle on one side of the cup. There is a large graphic of two roses and a rosebud on one outer side of the cup and on one side of the topside saucer, with a single rose and two rose buds on the other side of the saucer. On the opposing outside of the cup there is a graphic of some rose buds and leaves outlined in gold lines. The roses (and some of the rose buds) are white with highlighting in gray and a red/pink coloring, with gold line drawing of the stems, and the leaves done either in gold or a combination of white, gray & red. The red coloring is not a true "stop sign" red, but more of a muted maroon type, with the pink a medium color.

These pieces are made of china or porcelain (they are translucent). The saucer and cup rims are scalloped. The saucer measures about 5 3/4 inches in diameter and sits about 5/8 inch in height. The cup is a low flat type with a broad top opening having a diameter of 4 inches and a greatest width including the handle of 5 inches. The cup cinches in at the bottom before flaring slightly outward for the base, having a base diameter of about 1 7/8 inches. This cup base is also slightly fluted and has a heavy gold trim. The cup sits almost 2 1/2 inches in height to the top of the handle. With the saucer, the two pieces sit about 2 5/8 inches.

We've provided 8 images to show from varied angles including close-ups and the manufacturer marking. Please note that the camera light causes white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth surfaces (which you can see move across the images). Please use the zoom feature to examine closely. Together these two pieces weigh a little over 7 1/2 ounces unpacked.

Wonderful overall condition with no large chips, cracks or crazing but there are some manufacturer flaws and indication of age. There is a small spot on the saucer rim which on examination with a loupe shows to be 3 very tiny rim flakes that were made in manufacture but then coated with the gold rim paint so you have to look closely to find these (they won't be noticeable on display or in use). There is a similar tiny dot on the saucer rim on the opposite side (again fully covered in gold paint). There is a little bit of gold paint wear, most visible on the outer cup handle (you can see some white spots in the gold here and other rubbed/wear marks), with a touch of gold wear on some of the leaf/stem elements, but the gold is still mainly present on these pieces with 95% still there. While these pieces largely don't look used, there are a few small light surface scratches (you have to look closely at an angle in bright light to see these), some pin/pit dots in the porcelain as made, some dots & light surface wear to the broad black surfaces (not bad), and other general light aging, but these pieces really are in great shape for their age.

A fun addition to any collection of tea cups & saucers or a grouping of Royal Bayreuth china or china pieces made in the Germany U.S. Zone. Would also be an elegant way to enjoy a cup of afternoon tea or coffee!

Please Note: If you are interested in more than one cup & saucer or other items, please contact us before inputting the order. We'd be pleased to combine multiple items for shipment in one box, if possible, to save you on postage. Click for more detail...

2100

Vintage Schumann China Arzberg Germany Purple Violets Vase Flowers Lovely vintage small china vase with purple violets design. Perfect for violets or other small flowers groupings.

Flared shape in white base china with gold line trim and transfer design of small purple violets with yellow centers & green leaves. There is a larger grouping of the violet flowers on one side of the vase with 3 stray violets along the other sides.

Stands 4 inches tall with 3 1/2 inch diameter across the top opening and 2 1/4 inches diameter across the underside base. Weighs slightly over 6 ounces unpacked.

Fully marked on underside base with Schumann China logo having a crown, shield & lion, under which states "Schumann Arzberg Germany" and nearby the number "26" in green.

We've provided 8 images to show all sides and close-ups of the larger violet grouping. Please note that the camera light causes white "hot spot" reflections on the glossy surface. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a touch of wear to the top gold line trim on the top rim in three places (nothing bad, the other 3 gold lines are great and the gold on this piece overall is 98% still there and fine). As made there are some stray gold & dark lines from the gold line painting (which was likely hand applied), visible on the front flower side of the vase near the base. There is other slight age/storage/wear, including some stray brown dots (on the interior of the vase) and darkening on the underside base rim on which this old vase sits, but nothing bad at all.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 2104: 2 Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria China Portland Bread & Butter Plates

Click for more detail...

2104

2 Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria China Portland Bread & Butter Plates A pair of very pretty bread & butter plates made by Hutschenreuther in their Portland pattern. These are vintage pieces out of a home, we are not certain of the age, but they are not new.

Each of the two plates are round, measuring about 6 1/2 inches in diameter and sit about 1/4 inch in height. They are made of china or porcelain (they are translucent). This pattern has a bright white base plate with decor around the outer rim before ending with a gold line trim. The pattern is somewhat geometric with lots of nice pink roses & green leaves, gray curlicues, a yellow dot pattern and little circles & lined trim. Very upscale and elegant looking, which could be mixed not only with matching Portland pattern pieces but also other plates incorporating pink roses in their design.

These vintage small plates are each fully marked on the backside in green stamping "Hutschenreuther Selb" under which appears the company's lion graphic in an oval with "LHS", then "Bavaria" beneath this (which means they were made in Germany). The Portland Pattern name is stamped in blue with the "58" in a dark gold (the "58" could indicate the person who hand applied the gold trim). On one of the plates there is also an impressed "16". For shipping, the two plates together weigh a tad over 11 1/4 ounces unpacked.

We've provided 8 images to show both older plates together and individually, with close-ups of the pattern and the manufacturer marking. We've shot the images both with and without the camera lighting since there was such a high reflection off the white smooth porcelain. The overall images are shot without the camera light (although they still show white "hot spots" reflecting the room lighting), with the lighting used for the close-ups. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Very nice overall vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. These appear lightly used as we only see some light small occasional scratches if you look very closely at an angle in bright light, nothing bad. The coloring and pattern are in great shape, but with expected light wear in spots on the pattern including some missing touches of pink on some of the roses (while some of this is likely use/cleaning wear over time, some of this may also be as originally made, we're not sure, since these older pieces often had transfer misses in manufacture). There are a few raised bumps in the top glazing on the plates, some tiny pin/pit/dark dots, expected darkening on the underside rim on which these sit, and other general light age/use wear, but nothing to worry about here. These have survived well and are in great shape to use or display.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 1904: Antique Child's Cup China Leuchtenburg Germany Boy Girl Sheep Goose

Click for more detail...

1904

Antique Child's Cup China Leuchtenburg Germany Boy Girl Sheep Goose Very pretty antique child's cup with cute graphics of a boy and girl with two animals, a sheep and goose. Marked on underside "Leuchtenburg Germany" with a graphic of a castle turret. Made of china or porcelain (this piece is translucent), round, measuring about 3 5/8 inches greatest width (including outer handle), about 2 3/4 inches top diameter, and about 1 3/4 inches underside base diameter. This child's cup or mug sits about 2 1/2 inches in height. From the style and type, we believe this to be an antique piece (minimally a vintage child's cup), likely dating to the early 1900's. This was found out of a home.

The multi-color graphics encircle about half the cup with the remainder left blank. The order on the cup shows the white sheep first, followed by the boy dressed in what may be a shepherd's type outfit as he is carrying a curved shepherd's staff and wearing a broad-rimmed hat, followed by a white goose, and ending with a girl in a bonnet and skirt carrying what looks like a plate or dish of bread or simple cake. The cup has a white base coloring with pink highlighting near the rim and a bit of pink on the handle.

Porcelain child's cup was made with a slight fluting to the upper edge (it is not a smooth round circular top although the form is definitely circular) and raised in-mold design on the outside near the top edge in a repetitive arch form with raised dots. As made, this raised design was not evenly done around the cup with a large smooth section missing this design along the top in the area about midway from the sheep to midway of the boy. This is not wear on the cup but a manufacturing flaw (there is no wear in the paint pink coloring here). Perhaps the porcelain wasn't fully applied in the mold or there was an error in the mold. The cup itself has the same porcelain weight/width here as in the rest of the cup, it is just missing this in-mold raised design here. A similar arching and dot pattern is molded in the porcelain around the base of the cup. This lower raised design appears all around the cup but is noticeably less raised/flatter along the base under the handle. There is also a molded raised dot pattern on the upwardly curved outer handle.

We've provided 8 images to show the graphics and cup from multiple angles, as well as the mark on the underside. Please note that the camera lighting creates white "hot spots" on the high gloss porcelain.

While this is a nifty piece with a great look, there is a small chip along the outer top rim, roughly circular, measuring about 3/16 inch in width. The chip has a pink center surrounded by the white porcelain. It is noticeable in several of the images so please use the zoom feature to examine closely. Beyond this, the cup shows other minor wear expected for its age, with some minor flaking/chipping on the underside base on which the cup sits (not bad but there), a touch of wear to the graphics/paint (but not bad at all, some tiny white dots, rubbed spots, etc.), some dots/pin dots/dark dots, rubbed spots, lines in the porcelain (we believe these may be as made, there are no hairlines and no crazing), etc. Nothing unexpected and supportive of the age of this piece. The inside of the cup is very clean so we don't know if this piece was ever used.

2114

Vintage Heinrich Villeroy & Boch V&B Bone China Creamer Villa Verde Elegant vintage Villeroy & Boch (V&B) creamer in their Villa Verde pattern. This is a white bone china piece which is porcelain as it is translucent, with a lovely curved top edge & spout, and nifty upturned molding for the side handle. We've seen some European listings of this piece which refer to this as a milk jug. This piece was made in Germany.

The pattern has a wide light turquoise or aqua band with a marbled type effect having whiteish elements to it rather than a broad solid color. This is trimmed with a decorative turquoise and gold band above, and a gold line both below and at the two sides near the handle. There is also a gold line trim around the base.

Measures about 4 1/4 inches to the highest point, about 5 inches greatest width from the tip of the pour spout to the outer edge of the handle, and about 2 1/2 inches greatest depth. This has a rounded corner rectangular base which gives the body portion that flattened look on the front and back sides (rather than the usual round shape). Weighs 6 ounces unpacked.

Fully marked on the underside base with "Heinrich, Villeroy & Boch, Villa Verde, Germany, Bone China". We do not know the exact age of this piece. We would guess from the style and Germany marking that this was made after the reunification of East and West Germany which occurred in 1990, but don't know when.

We've provided 8 images to show from varied angles and close-ups, including the manufacturer marking. Please note that the camera lighting causes white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth surfaces. To reduce this glare we shot many of the images at an angle, so please know that this piece does sit normally upright on a table. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or major flaws that we see (including no chips or wear on the spout as often occurs). Clean inside and out. While likely this piece was used, we don't see any significant use wear, so perhaps it was kept on display, we don't know. There is likely some minor use/age/storage/cleaning wear, perhaps some minor light scratches, etc., but nothing is jumping out at us.

An attractive piece ready to use or display. Would make a nice addition to any collection of creamers or a collection related to these wonderful Villeroy & Boch china pieces.

2070

1929 KPM China Germany Kingsly Bouillon Cup & Saucer Inside Flowers Very pretty vintage double handled bouillon cup and saucer made by KPM China in Germany in their Kingsly pattern.

We purchased a partial set of this attractive KPM Kingsly china containing several types of pieces. We have 4 of these bouillon cup & saucer sets, all matching (the images are of one of these sets). We've listed each cup & saucer set as being sold separately and the price shown is for one set, in case people want just one set to add to their cup & saucer collection. We would be pleased to sell you more than one cup & saucer set, please see note at the bottom of this listing.

All pieces are marked on the underside bases with the crown & KPM in green and "Germany" in either green or red. On most of the pieces (all but one cup), the Kingsly pattern name appears in script in red. Under this in red on 6 of the pieces (4 saucers & 2 cups) is "U.S. Patent No. 77,445". On one cup, this instead says in red "U.S. Patent applied for". With the last cup, neither statement appears.

This patent number dates to 1929. The pieces stating the patent was applied for or having no statement were made prior to 1929 (and/or prior to KPM applying for the design patent). The former owner told us a relative had gotten the entire set pre WW II (World War II). All of this combined with the use of Germany as the country name (which would be prior to and during WW2), causes us to believe these pieces were made ca. 1920's - 1930's (but have shown the patent date in the listing title).

White base porcelain (these pieces are translucent) or bone china. These are all decorated with a pale yellow background color, multi-color flowers (which looks to include tulips, chrysanthemums, etc., with lots of green leaves), a scroll & geometric shaped banding, green & navy blue trim near the outer edge including a dot pattern & gold trim. The main decoration appears on the topside of the saucer and the interior of the cup. The outside of the double handled cup has a scroll & geometric band as well as a nicely curved handle on two sides, painted gold. The design looks to be largely a transfer, with probably hand painting for the gold and perhaps for some of the other decorative colors, we're not sure.

Saucer has a slightly lowered or indented section in the middle for seating the cup (which has the scroll & geometric band trim and a large floral grouping in the center), then smoothly curves upwards towards the edge, measuring about 5 7/8 inches diameter and sitting about 7/8 inch in height. The cup is basically round, curving outward and upward from the base, with a top opening diameter of about 3 15/16 inches and a total width to the outside of the two handles of about 5 1/4 inches. The cup sits about 2 1/16 inches in height. The two older pieces together sit about 2 1/4 inches total height.

We've provided 8 images to show one set from varied angles, including one of the marks. The camera light creates white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth surfaces. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely. Together these two older pieces weigh a little over 8 1/2 ounces unpacked.

Wonderful overall vintage condition with no major chips, cracks, crazing, or utensil marks or anything unexpected for pieces which were used, but there is some age and use wear. The condition varies slightly by piece/set, but all are similar. There are small light scratches mainly on the outside of the cup and underside of the saucer, but really nothing bad at all and you have to look closely at an angle in bright light to see these. There is gold wear which you can see on the two cup handles which were painted all-over gold, this varies widely from a good bit of gold wear to just dots, small lines, and rubbed/line spots, varying from 50-80%+ of the gold remaining on the handles. However the gold line edge trim on the cup and saucer rims look terrific with only slight touches of wear, having 90-95%+ of the gold remaining there (on a few pieces there may be a small spot where the gold is discolored). The floral and scroll/geometric band coloring looks bright overall, but there are some tiny touches of wear but nothing bad with 95% of the overall colors still there (on some saucers there is some wear to the band lines encircling where the cup sits, likely due to repeated placement of the cup on top). There are some pin/pit and raised dots in the porcelain, some stray paint/transfer dots/spots, some light brown and dark pin dots, on some saucers some very tiny flakes on the underside base rim on which it sits, and perhaps some other slight minor age wear.

A great displayable and usable bouillon cup & saucer set from this neat KPM Kingsly china pattern.

1937

Pre WWII Porcelain Plaque Pin Brooch Costume Jewelry Stern Germany Neat small antique pin or brooch found out of a home. This is overall square in shape, measuring about 1 1/8 inches in size. It consists of what looks to be a round porcelain plaque about 11/16 inches in diameter set into a square metal scrolled filigree piece, with a lovely antique look. The metal portion is actually two pieces of metal that have been secured together (via glue, cement or something else) in an offset manner, such that you can see that the pieces do not fit exactly one on top of the other. There is a metal standard closure pinback on the backside which operates fine.

On the pinback closure you can see impressed, "STERNGERMA" (the "S" is largely covered by a circular grommet, but you can see this is what it should be), which we believe stands for the designer or manufacturer, Stern, and the fact that this was made in Germany. From the style we believe this to be a piece that was minimally made prior to WW II (pre WWII), and possibly a Victorian or Art Nouveau/Art Deco piece, although we don't know all this for certain. So this is definitely a vintage piece and quite possibly an antique one.

The graphic on the porcelain is a picture of the head and shoulders of a woman or lady with a red bow in her hair. She is wearing a dark colored dress with a white lace-type collar. The background here is a light olive green color. This image is a transfer image as you can see the dots in the transfer close-up. It has not been transferred evenly on the porcelain round plaque, showing a bit to the left side with the white of the porcelain showing around the plaque on the right. The filigree metal is an aged or darkened gold-tone color. The metal part of this pin does not stick to a magnet, so it is possible that the metal is brass, but we don't know that for certain.

We've provided 8 images to show from all angles, including one with a quarter for size comparison and a view of the Stern Germany marking, which was hard to photograph. You can also see in the images how the graphic on the porcelain is printed slightly to the left. Please note that the camera lighting causes white "hot spots" on the smooth porcelain surface. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Excellent aged condition with no breaks, cracks, pieces missing. We've noted above how this was made slightly off center with the plaque graphic and the joining of the metal. There is some aged oxidation to darkening or black on the filigree metal in spots, which is not unexpected for a piece of this age. We see some pin/pit dots in the porcelain plaque as made, and the pinback closure is also attached at an angle, as made. Its possible that there is some age/storage/use wear on this pin as one would expect, but nothing bad is jumping out at us.

Click for more detail...

1907

Vintage Pin Brooch 1/80 18K RGP, 3 Curled Leaves, Germany Pre WWII Wonderful antique or vintage jewelry find out of a home. This is an old pin or brooch consisting of 3 curled leaves with lengthwise line décor, all attached at one end, with a standard pin-back closure across the back side. While an open-formed shape, the pin is roughly 1 3/4 inches greatest width x 1 7/8 inches greatest height. This pin weighs about 7.1 grams.

This vintage brooch is marked on the backside with "Germany" and "1/80/18kt. RGP" for 1/80 18K Rolled Gold Plate, and has the expected bright, shiny, golden coloring which reflects the light. Based on some internet research, we believe this marking dates the pin to the pre WW II or pre World War 2 period, possibly the 1920s or 1930s. There is no manufacturer marking, so we can't tell you who made this.

We've provided 8 images to show from differing angles in different lighting. The one image shot without the camera lighting provides the closest coloring to what you will see in person (image #5), although this may be a bit lighter than in person, but it is closer than the images taken with the camera light which tend to darken the coloring. Please note that the camera light also creates white "hot spots" on the highly reflective surface. The markings on the back side were hard to photograph, so we've provided two images to try and show them, but we guarantee this is what is impressed into the metal. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Excellent vintage condition, with no breaks, cracks, major chips. As expected for an old piece, there is evidence of use/wear/age/storage wear, with some scratches, surface lines, rubbed spots, general wear, etc., which you can see when looking very close-up, but nothing that will be noticed when worn and nothing which detracts from the great look. The pin back clasp turns easily and works well.

Please note: This item is only available for sale within the U.S.A. and will only be shipped to postal addresses in the U.S.A.

We have listed many other pieces of jewelry. Should you be interested in more than one piece, please contact us prior to placing the order so that we can provide you with shipping cost savings by packing them in one package. The system will automatically provide shipping costs for each listing as if mailed separately. We would be pleased to calculate and provide the postage savings for you.

1810

2 Germany Souvenir China Philadelphia, PA Independence Hall, City Hall Fun vintage souvenir china find commemorating locations in Philadelphia, PA. A pair of small china vases, matching except for differing buildings or locations shown as the pictures on the front sides. Marked on both underside bases via black stamped "Made in Germany". We believe these were made pre-WW II (pre World War II, prior to the second World War) or circa 1920s-1930s based on the marks, style and lustre decoration on the china. One vase is marked and shows a view of "City Hall, Philadelphia, Pa." while the other is marked and shows "Independence Hall, Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA."

Both vases stand about 5 inches tall, with a greatest width to the outwardly curved handles of about 3 1/4 inches. They are "flattened ovals" in shape, only having a depth to the main body and oval bases of about 1 1/2 inches. The oval picture area on the front sides is multi-colored, using blue, dark and light reddish orange and browns, with the actual drawing a black line drawing of the buildings/scenes and black for the location names below the pictures. The pictures and words are a transfer (you can see the dots); we are not sure if the coloring is hand done or not (we don't see dots here like we do for the black areas/design). On the front sides there is also a light green lustre paint at the top of the vases above the necks and along the bases, also having some gold line and gold dot décor. All this décor is only on the front side of the vases, with the back sides and both left/right sides just white china. These vases are porcelain, as they are translucent.

We've provided 8 images to try and show these vintage souvenir pieces from all sides with close-ups of the building/location pictures. These have been shot both with and without camera lighting, as the lighting tends to change the color somewhat (while making it easier for you to see condition and detail) and create white "hot spots" on the reflective surfaces. Please use the close-up feature to see all the detail.

These old souvenir vases are in very nice overall condition and in very nice collectible condition, but are not mint. On the City Hall vase, there is a tiny chip along the front top edge at the upwards point, with the gold line missing here, measuring about 1/8th inch in width. This vase also has a tiny flake on the front side bottom rim in the green lustre, measuring about 1/16th inch in width. We do not see any chips or flakes on the Independence Hall vase. With both vases they do show evidence of age wear via some scratches and scuffed/scuffed white/lighter paint areas on the building pictures (more so on the City Hall vase than the Independence Hall one), on the white areas there are surface scratches and pin, pit, brown & dark dots, some gold paint wear, age wear on the bisque/unglazed underside bases on which these pieces sit, etc. The green lustre paint on both pieces was not applied evenly throughout as manufactured, so there are visible areas that are less glazed and/or unglazed (this is also true on the white china on the Independence Hall vase). These souvenir china pieces, like many of the period, were not made as "fine china", having been more cheaply made, leading to the condition seen here which was common for these pieces. Please use the close-up feature to fully see the condition.

Still nifty antique pieces to add to any souvenir collection related to Pennsylvania in general or Philadelphia in particular. Would also make an interesting addition to a collection related to famous buildings or historical buildings or locations, particularly related to early American history.
