Vintage Ekco A&J Red Wood Handle Eggbeater Egg Beater
Vintage Ekco A&J Eggbeater or Egg Beater with two beater blades and a large top wood handle painted red and white. This has a side turn mechanism with a metal spiral handle here. Marked on this round side handle with the diamond manufacturer mark stating "Ekco A&J U.S.A.". Measures about 10 3/4 inches total length, about 3 inch diameter to the round side handle piece and 2 1/4 inches width to each lower rounded beater open blade.
We've provided 5 images to try and show from differing angles with a close-up of the manufacturer marking. This is an old kitchen item which came out of a home and was used so it shows appropriate age/wear/use and is not mint. Nice overall aged look as expected, but the red paint on the handle is peeling/peeled in many spots, particularly near the base and can continue to flake off with handling. There is all-over crazing lines to this painted wood handle on both the red and white areas, with scraped spots also visible on the white. This top handle is fully attached but it does "wiggle" around easily. The beater blades are very tarnished. Turning the side metal handle does rotate the beater blades but not in a smooth, easy fashion...they rotate in a more jerky uneven way and are hard to turn. There are also tiny rust spots on the metal parts. Still a neat addition for any egg beater or kitchen utensil collectible collection or to display as part of kitchen or restaurant décor.
