2223

1969 King's Crown Cranberry Flash Red Goblet Merry Christmas Bill Neat find out of a home. They had four of these vintage King's Crown Thumbprint Cranberry Flash goblets, each etched to clear in the red cranberry coloring with "Merry Christmas", the year 1969 and then a person's name, with each glass having a different name. This glass says "Bill". Given the different names, we are posting each glass for sale separately so that someone could choose to buy only those glasses with names that mean something to them.

Please note that we would be pleased to sell more than one glass and could pack them together in the same box to save you on shipping. Please email us prior to placing the order and we will compute the combined shipping for you. The system will calculate as if each glass were shipping separately and will not automatically adjust for the postage savings. We would be pleased to do that for you.

Clear glass for the lower portion of the goblet with molded oval indents or thumbprints, molded angular zig zag design above and below these indents, further smaller indents on the stem, then more zig zag molding on the circular base. Stands about 5 3/4 inches in height, 2 3/4 inches top opening diameter, 2 7/8 inches diameter to round base. Double mold line visible on underside base and clear glass sides. No manufacturer or country of origin marking but believe this was made by U.S. Glass Company or Tiffin in the late 1960's given the etched 1969 year, so this is a mid-century modern vintage piece over 50 years old. Nice heavy goblet weighing about 12.5 ounces unpacked. We would say this is a water goblet size.

We've provided multiple images to show from varied views. Please note that the camera lighting creates white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth glass surfaces. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Excellent condition, we see no major evidence of wear or use so this may have been just kept on display, we don't know. No chips, cracks, crazing or major flaws, may have some very, very minor evidence of wear from sitting or cleaning, but nothing here to worry about. Nice cranberry color as expected, clear etching with script lettering, looks professionally etched, very readable. You can see tiny bubbles in the clear glass in spots as made. In terrific condition to use or give as a gift.

Excellent condition, we see no large evidence of wear or use so this may have been just kept on display, we don't know. No major chips, cracks, crazing or major flaws. This does have some very, very minor evidence of wear from sitting or cleaning, including some tiny spots of wear on the cranberry coloring near the outer rim above the "Christmas" and a tiny bit elsewhere, and four tiny lines/indents along either the upper or lower base rim which we think were made in-mold, but nothing here to worry about. Nice cranberry color as expected, clear etching with script lettering, looks professionally etched, very readable. You can see tiny bubbles in the clear glass in spots as made. 2239

Vtg MCM Whist Playing Card Game Philadelphia Tournament Glass Dish Fun find out of a home. This is a vintage glass dish with decor showing it is a tournament award or trophy award for a Whist tournament held by the Philadelphia Whist Association in Penna.. The former owner said the winner was a family member, who was a Sectional Winner (generic winner dish with no personalization or name added). From the style and age inferred by the family, this is judged to be a mid century piece, likely from the 1960s. The Association later changed its name to the Philadelphia Contract Bridge League, then Philadelphia Contract Bridge Association (in Pennsylvania).

Vintage glass dish measures about 6 3/4 x 5 inches, with a depth of about 1 1/4 inches. Rectangular glass dish or plate is made of the dark see through glass with a smoke type color often seen with 1960s pieces. Dish has upwardly turned sides and corners, with a curve to all sides. Decorated with gold outlining, with red highlights, center states "Philadelphia Whist Association" and "Sectional Winner" in Old English style lettering, with a gold line drawing of the Liberty Bell in the middle. Surrounding this are the four playing card symbols in gold line design (hearts, clubs diamonds, spades), with the hearts and diamonds filled in with red coloring.

Excellent overall condition, having some expected age/surface wear but not bad at all. Glass is clear, gold detailing is good, red areas are strong. No chips, cracks, crazing or major flaws. As this is an older piece out of a home, when held at an angle in bright light, you can see there are some expected tiny scratches, tiny wear areas, surface rubbed areas/surface spots, etc., but nothing that is seen when sitting on a table or likely on display, nor is a problem.

Please review the 8 images using the zoom feature to examine closely. This was difficult to photograph, so we shot images using differing backgrounds, lighting, angles, etc., including one image shot without the camera light so it looks yellower, but can help to see some of the detail. The last image is of the blank backside of this piece.

Would be a nifty gift for any player of the whist card game or interested in playing card games in general, or someone associated with the Philadelphia Contract Bridge Association of PA and interested in its history.

Click for more detail...

2255

1940s/50s Souvenir Country Glass Bermuda, Hazel Atlas Glass Company Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1940s or 1950s. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for the island country of Bermuda, marked on the underside base with the raised "HA" insignia of the Hazel Atlas Glass Company (we could not get the HA insignia to show in an image but guarantee that it is there). These state and country-related glasses were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century with more people travelling, as mementos of their adventures.

We have six of these same Bermuda glasses which came out of the same home. We are selling them individually since many people like to collect just one glass from different places. They are identical, but do have minor condition wear differences (nothing bad).

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 5 inches in height, 2 11/16 inch top diameter. It is evenly frosted throughout the glass (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places). The glass shows a map of the islands that make up Bermuda, marking in words the country's parishes and several locations or features. There are also several line drawings or illustrations showing the ship The Queen of Bermuda (labelled), two sailboats, a horse drawn carriage, a sea horse, two swimming fish, and some palm trees and flowers. All graphic details are done in a raised black enameling or baked-on paint, with yellow backgrounds and yellow highlighting.

For those who collect items related to specific locations, the words and locations in Bermuda listed on the glass are: Somerset, Ireland Island, Great Sound, U.S. Base, Little Sound, Southampton, Warwick, Paget, Pembroke, Hamilton, Devonshire, Smith's Parish, Harrington Sound, St. George's, Ft. Bell Kindly Air Field and Castle Harbor.

Overall, these souvenir tumblers are in very good condition, and easily could be used or displayed. They have no chips, cracks, crazing or major scratches. Frosting and graphics look wonderful. On some of the glasses there are minor touches of wear which vary by glass. Depending on the glass, with closeup inspection you may see a few stray dots, tiny scratches or marks, some darker lines or slight stain lines in the frosted area, curved clear-type lines and/or rubbed lines in the frosting (some as made), some spots/spotting in the frosting (likely as made), and other light touches of perhaps some use or handling wear. We are listing these which, again, vary by glass (with only some of these on some glasses), but really there isn't anything bad here that detracts. There is some expected wear on the underside base rims on which these glasses sit, with this also varying, one having darker dots on the base while some others with lesser wear (all supportive of the age).

Great souvenir drinking glass to add to your collection or just a nifty piece to add to any collection of memorabilia related to Bermuda or the British Commonwealth, of which it is a member.

If you are looking at ordering more than one of these Bermuda glasses, or in combination with others of our state souvenir glasses, we recommend you contact us before placing the order so that we can provide you with a better shipping cost. We would be pleased to ship multiple glasses together in one package to save you money (the system won't automatically calculate the savings you should get shipping more than one glass together).

Click for more detail...

2117

Mid Century Modern Georges Briard Bath Drinking Glass Angel Cupid Neat mid century modern glass which came out of a home. This was designed by Georges Briard and shows his printed signature near the base on one side. From some internet research, we believe this is a rarer Georges Briard vintage glass likely from the 1960's.

This has a bathing or bathroom design, so it may have been intended to be a bathroom or vanity glass but could also be used as a drinking glass. This is what we believe was meant to be a female glass, showing an Angel or Cupid toweling dry after a bath in a small, old-fashioned type low tub. We believe this is a girl or female angel since the additional ornamentation on this glass shows perfume bottles, lipstick and some other female toiletries.

This vintage glass measures about 4 3/4 inches tall with an outside top diameter of 2 1/2 inches. It is straight walled with the design depicted in a black lined/outlined fashion with painted gold highlights. We've read elsewhere that Georges Briard glasses often used 22K gold paint for their highlights, but this glass does not indicate that here, so we don't know if this gold paint is 22K or not. There is no country of origin or manufacturer marking beyond the Georges Briard name on one side near the base. This glass weighs about 7 ounces unpacked.

This glass was made with a clear glass base (you can see this at the bottom portion of the glass), with the black line and gold design applied on the outside and a light blue or light aqua solid color or frosting applied on the inside. When you look at the bottom interior of the glass, you can see that this light blue was added as either a painted on color or an interior film, which has a few tiny bubbles in it of darker blue on the interior base. As manufactured, a few of these paint/film bubbles then burst leaving a few tiny pin dots of clear which you can see if you hold this glass up to a light.

We've provided 8 images to try and show from varied angles, including a close-up of the Georges Briard name. Please note that the camera light creates white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth surfaces. We've also included here two images without the camera light, so these appear darker, but may help you see some of the detail. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Very nice vintage condition ready to use or display, with some expected age/use/storage wear. There are no chips, cracks, crazing. However there is some wear to the black outlining in places (such as on the Georges Briard name), not a lot, but some. There is more wear on some of the gold areas, most noticeable on the right Angel wing but also a bit on the left wing (with a few scratches also visible on this wing), and some gold wear on the tub, some of the toiletry items and elsewhere. Even so, the design is very much still there and looks good overall. This old piece has many smooth horizontal lines, and some vertical lines, in the glass as made/manufactured. You can particularly see these in the close-up image of the Georges Briard name, with it looking like there are scratches by the name but these are the smooth molded ridges in the glass which you can feel on the surface. The underside base shows touches of wear and there is other minor expected use/age/storage wear. Please see earlier note regarding the blue interior coating.

1940s/50s Souvenir State Glass Vermont, Hazel Atlas Glass Company Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1940s or 1950s. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for the state of Vermont, marked on the underside base with the raised "HA" insignia of the Hazel Atlas Glass Company. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people traveled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 5 inches in height, 2 11/16 inch top opening diameter. It is evenly frosted throughout the glass (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places). We've provided 2 images to try to show the intricate design. The glass shows a state map, marking in words a number of cities, locations and pertinent details of things the state is famous for, as well as line drawings. The Vermont name is shown with 2 workers chiseling it into a vertical piece of granite (granite from Barre, VT is world famous, Vermont is known to have the largest monumental granite quarry on Earth), with a compass/directional NSEW graphic nearby. Graphic details are done in a raised black enameling or baked-on paint, with a yellow background for the state and other yellow highlighting.

For those who collect items related to specific locations in Vermont, the locations and cities listed on the glass are: St. Albans, Newport, Granite Hills, Mt. Mansfield, N. Hyde Park, Darling State Forest Park, St. Johnsbury, Woodbury, Winooski, Burlington, Montpelier, Barre, Rochester, Bethel, S. Royal, Lake Dunmore, Proctor, Lake Bomoseen, Rutland, Woodstock, Windsor, Fair Haven, Plymouth, Wallingford, Weston, Springfield, Dorset, Mt. Equinox, Bellows Falls, Manchester Center, Bennington and Brattleboro. There are words/graphics of Maple Syrup, a sailboat, the capitol building in Montpelier, pine trees, a skier,a hunter, a girl studying, etc.

This souvenir tumbler appears to be in excellent condition, easily could be used. There are no chips, cracks, crazing. To us it looks unused but we can't guarantee that, of course. Frosting, graphics, everything looks wonderful on this vintage glass, with a very slight touch of unevenness and/or wear to the frosting just along the very top lip (you will only see this looking very closely in bright light, nothing you will notice on display or in use). There may be a touch of normal age/sitting wear, such as a few stray scratches/marks, but nothing is jumping out at us. There is a bit of expected wear on the underside rim on which this piece sits. We got this out of an elderly person's home.

A terrific state drinking glass to add to your collection or just a nifty piece to add to any collection of memorabilia related to Vermont.

If you are looking at ordering more than one of the state souvenir glasses, we recommend you contact us before placing the order so that we can provide you with a better shipping cost. We would be pleased to ship multiple glasses together in one package to save you money (the system won't automatically calculate the savings you should get shipping more than one glass together).

1064

1962 Coats & Clark Sewing Thread 150th Anniversary Smoke Glass Tray Attractive glass tray or dish with colorful paint or enamel distributed by Coats & Clark when celebrating their 150th Anniversary in 1962. The famous sewing thread maker decorated this tray with symbolic pictures from the history of thread use on the topside, with a lengthy written description of the "Story of Thread" along with line drawings on the bottomside. This is where they also placed the Coats & Clark seal and dates.

Rectangular, measuring 9 inches long x 7 inches wide and sitting about 5/8 inch in height. The glass is a dark, clear color which we believe is called "smoke glass", so you can "see through" to the decorations on each side. The rectangular shape actually dips in slightly on the middle of each side to add interest, and curves up slightly from the underpart where it sits to create a slightly flared effect. We've provided several images and close-ups...please note that the white "hot spots" are lighting reflection from the camera on the glossy surface.

Very nice overall condition, but not mint. There is a tiny chip on the underside and side edge near the point in two of the corners, but you don't see these from the topside. There are also a number of tiny scratches, rubbed marks, dots, etc. -- but nothing major that really jumps out at you when you look at the piece on a table. Coloring is still all bright and pretty.

A highly usable piece which would make an interesting addition to any collection of vintage sewing items or sewing collectibles, or a nice gift for anyone who likes to sew or is a seamstress or tailor.

This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for the state of Colorado, marked on the underside base with the raised "HA" insignia of the Hazel Atlas Glass Company. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people traveled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 5 inches in height, 2 5/8 inch top opening diameter. It is evenly frosted throughout the glass (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places). We've provided 3 images to try to show the intricate design. The glass shows a state map, marking in words a number of cities, locations and pertinent details of the state's history, as well as line drawings. There is a large illustration to the left side of the state map showing a man or miner working his gold mine (marked "Claim No. 3") with a graphic of a compass or NSEW indicator. All graphic details are done in a raised black enameling or baked-on paint, with a yellow background for the state and other yellow highlighting.

For those who collect items related to specific locations in Colorado, the words, locations and cities listed on the glass are: Rocky Mt. National Park, Estes Park, Ft. Collins, Boulder, Steamboat Springs, Dinosaur National Monument, University of Colorado, Fort Morgan, Sterling, Yuma, Denver, Aspen, Grand Mesa National Forest, Continental Divide, Grand Junction, Delta, Black Canyon, Englewood, Central City, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Cave of the Winds, Will Rodgers Shrine of the Sun, Kit Carson, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Canon City, Pueblo, Salida, Royal Gorge, Cliff Dwellers, Mese Verde National Park, Durango, Southern Ute Indian Reservation, Seven Falls, Alamosa, Cumbres Pass, La Junta, Springfield, and Trinidad. There are graphics on the map of cattle, a man farming, mountains, caves, the state capitol building in Denver, a bridge across the Royal Gorge, oil drilling towers, a horse saddle, and Indian chief in headdress, and Cliff Dweller buildings.

This souvenir tumbler appears to be in excellent condition, easily could be used. We can find nothing wrong with it...no chips, cracks, crazing. To us it looks unused but we can't guarantee that, of course. Frosting, graphics, everything looks wonderful on this vintage glass. 2027

Vintage 1950s/1960s Souvenir Drinking Glass, Ocean City, New Jersey Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1950s or 1960s. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for Ocean City, New Jersey (these are the only words shown on the glass). There is no manufacturer mark or other indication on the glass as to who made it. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people traveled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 4 7/8 inches in height, 2 5/8 inch top opening diameter. It is evenly frosted throughout the glass (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places). We've provided 3 images to try to show the intricate design. The glass decor wraps a beach scene around the piece, with people sitting on and walking the beach, with what looks like a man fly fishing in the background and a sailboat sailing on the ocean in the far distance. Ocean City, NJ is a well known summer beach area, a very popular summer vacation destination. All graphic details are done in a raised red enameling or baked-on paint.

This souvenir tumbler is in overall very nice condition, ready to use or display, with some age wear. There is a touch of red enameling missing on the "ey" in the word "Jersey", some unevenness in one line in the "N" in "Ocean" (this could be how this was made), and a number of dots of red enamel wear on the beach scene graphic, but this is not bad overall for a vintage piece (the original red enamel is 95%+ still present on this glass). When you look at the frosting on the glass in very bright light you can see there are some large spots of frosted wear on the upper part of the glass near the upper rim, mainly on the back side, with some frosting missing spots behind the words "Ocean City" and a few small areas elsewhere on the glass. This could be how this piece was made or wear due to some hard washing over the years, we don't know (we don't see scratches). Not something we think you would notice on display, but you will see this if you examine closely. There is expected evidence of age/wear on the underside base on which the glass sits.

An attractive souvenir drinking glass to add to a beach oriented collection or just a nifty piece to add to any collection of memorabilia related to Ocean City or New Jersey in particular.

1891

1940s/1950s Souvenir State Glass Wyoming, Hazel Atlas Glass Co. Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1940s/1950s period. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for the state of Wyoming, marked on the underside base with the raised "HA" insignia of the Hazel Atlas Glass Company. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people travelled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 5 inches in height, about 2 5/8 inch top opening diameter. It is evenly frosted throughout the glass (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places), although we do see some curved lines in the frosting near a fish graphic which may be how this glass was made, we don't know. We've provided 3 images to try to show the intricate design. The glass shows a map of Wyoming, marking in words a number of cities and locations, as well as six large graphics, one of a ram, the second of a fish jumping up out of a lake, the third of a rodeo cowboy on a bucking horse, the fourth of an American Indian showing his head with feathered headdress. The fifth graphic is a large one if a wagon train over the top of the state map. The final graphic is a series of graphics that look like early cave paintings, 3 on one side of the Wyoming name and 4 on the other side. There are also two other smaller graphics on the state map showing a geyser at Yellowstone National Park and the rock formation, Devils Tower. All graphic details are done in a slightly raised black enameling or baked-on paint, with a yellow background for the map and some yellow highlighting on four of the graphics. Please note that the yellow highlighting on the map does not reach all the way to the right side of the map as made/manufactured. Just the way this glass was made.

For those who collect items related to specific locations in Wyoming, the locations and cities listed on the glass are: Yellowstone Nat'l Park, Sheridan, Cody, Buffalo, Devils Tower, Jackson Hole, Grand Teton Nat'l Park (Grand Teton National Park), Thermopolis, Shoshoni, Casper, Medicine Bow, Laramie, Cheyenne, Green River, Rock Springs, Evanston.

This souvenir tumbler appears to be in overall excellent condition, and easily could be used. There is a touch of age wear or made in manufacture flaws beyond those stated above, such as black enameling dots, a tiny wear spot on the top rim (no rims, just some dots of darkening), some uneven yellow on the map near Casper showing as dots of the base glass frosting showing through, etc., but nothing major that detracts from the great look of this glass. Separately, there a little bit of evidence of age/wear on the underside base on which the glass sits via scratches or wear dots (with one dot on the outside of the glass near the base), but nothing unexpected.

An attractive souvenir drinking glass to add to your collection or just a nifty piece to add to any collection of memorabilia related to Wyoming in particular.

If you are looking at ordering more than one of the souvenir and/or state souvenir glasses, we recommend you contact us before placing the order so that we can provide you with a better shipping cost. The system has been set up to only provide shipping costs for each item individually and will not automatically provide the cost savings you should get by shipping more than one glass in the same package (we need to do that for you).

1408

1950s/1960s Souvenir Drinking Glass, Cape Cod, Massachusetts Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1950s or 1960s. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for Cape Cod, Mass. (Massachusetts, MA). There is no manufacturer mark or other indication on the glass as to who made it. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people travelled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 4 3/4 inches in height, 2 1/2 inch top opening diameter. It is evenly frosted throughout the glass (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places). We've provided 2 images to try to show the intricate design. The glass shows a map of Cape Cod, marking in words a number of cities and locations, as well as two large graphics, one of the Cape Cod Lighthouse, and the other of the Provincetown Monument. All graphic details are done in a raised black enameling or baked-on paint, with a red background for the map and graphics and other red highlighting.

For those who collect items related to specific locations on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the locations and cities listed on the glass are: Buzzards Bay, Onset, Plymouth, Cape Cod Bay, Cape Cod Canal, Bourne, Mashpee, Falmouth, Sandwich, Barnstable, Hyannis, Yarmouth, Nantucket Sound, Atlantic Ocean, Dennis, Brewster, Harwich, Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans, Chatham.

This souvenir tumbler appears to be in overall very nice condition, and easily could be used, but is not mint. There are some made in manufacture flaws, including a lot of pitting/pin dots in many of the red areas and some of the black areas (including on the main words, Cape Cod, Mass.), and a shadowing or slightly smeared effect to the black letters on some of the words. Separately, there is evidence of age/wear on the underside base on which the glass sits, including a number of tiny flakes/chips, but you can't see these when the piece is sitting on a table.

An attractive souvenir drinking glass to add to your collection or just a nifty piece to add to any collection of memorabilia related to Massachusetts or Cape Cod in particular.

1405

1940s Souvenir State Glass Nevada, Hazel Atlas Glass Company, A Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1940s. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for the state of Nevada, marked on the underside base with the raised "HA" insignia of the Hazel Atlas Glass Company. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people travelled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

The glass shows a state map, marking in words a number of cities, locations and pertinent details of the state's history, as well as line drawings of people in varied occupations, and a large graphic of a miner (carrying a pick axe and bag of something) with a wagon train under the state name. All graphic details are done in a raised black enameling or baked-on paint, with a yellow background for the state and other yellow highlighting.

We actually have 2 of these glasses which we are listing (and selling) separately, with the listings marked "A" and "B", and this being glass "A". The "B" glass does not have the Hazel Atlas mark on the underside base, nor the same "whiteness" to the frosting. It's yellow coloring is a slightly different yellow, with the yellow background becoming a clear frost behind words in the state map graphic (as opposed to being a solid yellow behind the words as with this glass "A"). We believe the "B" glass could have been made by someone else, is slightly newer in age, perhaps from the 1950s/1960s, and with these differences have priced it cheaper.

For those who collect items related to specific locations in Nevada, the words, locations and cities listed on the glass are: Univ. of Nevada, Lake Tahoe, Black Rock Desert, Reno, Virginia City, Golconda, Winnemucca, Comstock Lode, Carson City, Battle Mountain, Austin, Goldmining, Tonopah Goldfield, Eureka, Copper, Las Vegas, Searchlight, Elko, Palisade, Ely, Hoover Dam, Wells, Lehman Cave National Monument, Lehman Caves, Pioche. Graphics on the glass include an Indian and teepees, miners and buildings.

This souvenir tumbler appears to be in excellent condition, easily could be used. We can find nothing wrong with it...no chips, cracks, crazing. To us it looks unused but we can't guarantee that, of course. Frosting, graphics, everything looks wonderful on this vintage glass. There is a bit of expected wear on the underside rim on which this piece sits. We got this out of an elderly person's home.

1406

1950s Souvenir State Collectible Drinking Glass Nevada B Neat vintage souvenir glass or souvenir collectible believed to have been made in the 1950s or 1960s. This is a frosted drinking glass or frosted tumbler for the state of Nevada. There is no manufacturer mark or other indication on the glass as to who made it. These were very popular collectibles in the mid 20th century as people travelled the country by road visiting multiple locations.

Cylindrical drinking tumbler measuring 5 inches in height, 2 11/16 inch top opening diameter. The full glass is frosted (vs. some of these glasses which are frosted behind the designs but become clear in other places), however it is not an "even" frosting towards the top of the glass. There are no clear unfrosted areas, but you can see lines or unevenness or variations or spottiness in the frosting near the top rim, which could be how it was made or perhaps due to how someone cleaned this at some prior time, we don't know. We've provided 2 images to try to show the intricate design.

We actually have 2 of these Nevada glasses which we are listing (and selling) separately, with the listings marked "A" and "B", and this being glass "B". The "B" glass does not have the Hazel Atlas Glass Company mark on the underside base which is visible on the "A" glass, nor the same evenness and "whiteness" to the frosting. On the "B" glass the yellow coloring is a slightly different yellow, with the yellow background becoming a clear frost behind words in the state map graphic (as opposed to being a solid yellow behind the words as with the glass "A"). We believe the "B" glass could have been made by someone else, is slightly newer in age (we think the "A" glass dates from the 1940s, with this one possibly from the 1950s), and with these differences have priced the "B" glass less.

For those who collect items related to specific locations in Nevada, the words, locations and cities listed on the glass are: Univ. of Nevada, Lake Tahoe, Black Rock Desert, Reno, Virginia City, Golconda, Winnemucca, Comstock Lode, Carson City, Battle Mountain, Austin, Goldmining, Tonopah Goldfield, Eureka, Copper, Las Vegas, Searchlight, Elko, Palisade, Ely, Hoover Dam, Wells, Lehman Cave National Monument, Lehman Caves, Pioche. Graphics on the glass include an Indian and teepees, miners and buildings.

This souvenir tumbler appears to be in very nice condition, easily could be used. There are no chips, cracks, crazing. In addition to the uneven frosting noted above, we do note that in the first "A" in the word "Nevada" part of the middle line is missing, with two tiny dots of the black missing right next to each other. The "A" is still very readable, but you will notice this. This could be a manufacturing flaw or a bit of wear, we don't know. The graphics are still bright and appealing on this vintage glass. There is some expected wear on the underside rim on which this piece sits. We got this out of an elderly person's home.

A great state drinking glass to add to your collection or just a nifty piece to add to any collection of memorabilia related to Nevada.

If you are looking at ordering more than one of the state souvenir glasses, we recommend you contact us before placing the order so that we can provide you with a better shipping cost. We would be pleased to ship multiple glasses together in one package to save you money.
