Little Red Riding Hood Transferware Child's Feeding Warming Dish This 1930s transferware child's feeding dish features a scene of Little Red Riding Hood encountering the wolf in the woods. The 7-1/2 inch shallow bowl or welled plate is encased in a metal holder with side handles and stoppered spout, allowing Mama to fill the dish with hot water to keep baby's food warm. The transfer decoration is colorful and in excellent condition, with no fading, scratches, or damage. The only issue is a tight 3/4 inch craze line or hairline extending from the rim at about the 1 o'clock position in the first photo. There are no markings to indicate the maker or country of origin.

At the center is the University Seal with the motto "The Glory of God is Intelligence" and the LDS / Mormon beehive symbol of industry. Click for more detail...

13939

1950s Tin Litho Dinner Plates Trays Brown Eyed Susan Set of 8 A set of eight rare tin litho 11-1/4" plates in sunny yellow with brown eyed susan daisy type flowers from the late 1940s to 1950s. Although they may have been sold as trays, they came in an old picnic basket along with plastic dishes suitable for picnics and outdoor eating. Someone used them as plates.

The plates have no indication as to maker, but I've found a set of tin litho metal kitchen canisters with the same design - I'll bet there were other items made to match, such as a cake carrier or bread box. They're all in very good condition with no rust, utensil marks, or scratches. Most have small areas of storage wear to the rim edges as shown in the photos. Price is for the set of eight.

The 3-1/2" high gravy has double pour spouts and an 8 inch attached underplate. The simple decoration consists of concentric platinum rings or bands. It's in excellent condition with no damage or platinum wear, just a few super short, shallow utensil marks in the bottom to the glaze only.

17092

Rudolph Red Nose Reindeer Childs Christmas Dishes Set 1940s A scarce matching Christmas plate, bowl, and cup dinnerware or child's feeding set from the 1940s, featuring Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - each piece with a different scene. The plate is 7-1/4 inches diameter, the bowl 6-3/8 by 1-3/4 inches deep, and the mug is 3-1/4" high by 3 inches diameter. I'm not sure who produced the set, but the bottoms of the plate and bowl are marked Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer © R.L.M - meaning the set was officially licensed by Rudolph's creator, Robert L. May.

There are no chips, cracks, scratches, flakes, or crazing. When viewed with magnification, you can see a few random tiny utensil marks to the decal decoration from utensil use, very minimal. It's rare to find the complete Rudolph child's dinnerware set in such great condition.

Mid Century Speckled Yellow Dinnerware Serving Bowl This sunny yellow speckled china dinnerware serving bowl has a sleek Mid Century shape, like an Asian wok with wide sloping sides. It isn't marked and I haven't been able to determine who made it. Many American dinnerware manufacturers made speckled dinnerware like this in the 1950s and 1960s: Taylor Smith Taylor, Bauer, Red Wing, Laurel of California, Monterey California, and Metlox to name just a few.

The bowl measures 10-1/4 inches diameter by 2-3/4" high. I have three identical bowls in perfect condition with no damage, crazing, or scratches. Price is per bowl.

Fragonard 1940s Courting Couple Creamer Sugar Set This 1940s small footed creamer and covered sugar set was made by Kingwood China Company.
They're decorated on both sides with the classic Fragonard style Colonial romantic courting couple scene, and trimmed with lots of lots of real 22k gold (this company invented the Weeping Gold ceramic decoration). Considered a tea size or miniature set (but not toy or dollhouse), the creamer is just over 2-1/2" high, the sugar is about 4 inches wide across the handles. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no damage or wear to the decals or gold trim.

15105

Hand Painted Forget Me Nots Divided Pottery Tray Dish This vintage 3-section divided tray or dish has hand painted sprays of blue forget-me-not flowers on matte pastel mint green with curvy ruffled edges and an ornate center handle. It measures 9 inches square. There are no labels or maker's marks but it's a quality piece, not home ceramics. My guess is a 1930s - 1940s California ceramics studio. In excellent condition with no damage or paint loss.

Walt Disney 3 Pigs 1930s Divided Childs Feeding Plate This very scarce 1930s 3-section juvenile feeding plate can be seen on page 82 of the original edition of Stern's Guide to Disney Collectibles. It's just under 8" diameter and has decaled illustrations of two of the original Disney cartoon Three Little Pigs plus the Big Bad Wolf in each of the plate sections. Each design is signed with the likeness of Walt Disney's signature.

The plate was made by Salem China Company under their Patriot China mark. The back is marked S.C. Co. Patriot China, Made in America, Mfgd. by permission Walt Disney Enterprises. The heavy plate has no chips, flakes, or hairlines but it does have stained crazing and there is quite a bit of wear and fading to the largest decal, the fiddling pig at the lower center. The wolf and other pig decals have much less wear. The black spot on the back to the right of the mark appears to be an impressed number 8 with an overabundance of ink.

Figural Flower Form Creamer and Sugar Set This Mid Century ceramic creamer and sugar bowl are creamy white with gold trim. They're shaped like five-petal flowers. They're unmarked, though I've found several in the same shape elsewhere online in different colors. The creamer is about 3 inches to the top handle, the sugar is 4-3/4 inches wide from handle to handle. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no damage.

15483

Child's Nursery Rhyme Plate with Bonus Cup This Salem China child's nursery rhyme plate is from the 1940s. It features an illustration of a cow jumping over the moon as the proverbial dish runs away with a spoon. It was likely a retail promotional item, given as a gift with purchase of a baby crib or similar item from a furniture or department store.

The plate measures 7-1/8" and has a red line rim. There are two fleabite chips on the rim and some utensil scratches in the center. Included with the plate is an unmarked 3 inch pottery baby or child's mug from the 1920s -1930s. It has charming decals of Grace Drayton Dolly Dingle style children playing musical instruments on both sides. The cup has a chip on the lower edge of one side and is crazed.
