1114

Hall Camellia Windshield Teapot Without Lid This Hall China teapot is in the Windshield shape, first issued in 1941. The color looks maroon but it's actually the softer, lighter Camellia color. It is missing its lid but is in like new condition otherwise with no chips, flakes, cracks, or scratches. It has one pinprick factory glaze miss under the spout, which is common for Hall pieces of this era. With it's graceful, Moderne-Deco pitcher-like shape, it displays beautifully even without the lid.

Click for more detail...

15559

Ceramic Roses 1980s Tea or Coffee Set in Original Box This pink and green roses ceramic coffee or tea set appears to be unused. All eleven pieces (counting lids) are packed in their original plain box with foam packing inserts. Included are a coffee or tea pot with lid, four large 12 ounce mugs, creamer, sugar with lid, and pair of salt and pepper shakers. The coffee pot is about 8 inches high to the top of the rose blossom lid, the mugs are 3-3/4" high by 3-1/4" diameter.

Each glazed cream colored piece has embossed pink roses and green leaves on both sides. The set appears to be unused. However, the bottom of the coffee pot has a firing crack from manufacture (see fourth photo). All other pieces are in perfect condition with no signs of use or wear. The coffee pot is marked only with a foil Made in Taiwan label, the other pieces aren't marked. The set likely dates to the 1980s, possibly early 1990s. See my other listings for the matching set of kitchen canisters.

Click for more detail...

15928

Chrome and Bakelite Manning Bowman Art Deco Ball Coffee Urn This Manning Bowman model 494 "Party Urn" chrome and Bakelite electric coffee percolator has a great Art Deco ball shape. The patent numbers on the bottom date to the late 1920s though it was in production through most of the 1930s. It holds 24 cups heats up just fine. The cloth covered cord and basket are present.

The dark yellow Bakelite or Catalin base, handle insert, and round disk spout decoration have no nicks or chips. The chrome finish is clean and shiny with no corrosion. There is one short, shallow scratch to the back of the urn and two tiny pinpoints dimple at the front, just below the ringed center band and to the left of the spout (none of the three were visible in any of the pictures I took). The glass perc top is a replacement - the original split cleanly in half vertically top to bottom when I went to wash it. I'll include the two pieces with shipment in case you prefer to have the original for display. The cloth covered cord is in great condition with no damage or fraying. The coffee maker is about 15 inches tall to the top of the raised handle by 11 inches at the widest point where the handles attach.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 16524: Pyrex Flameware 6 Cup Glass Percolator Coffee Pot

Click for more detail...

16524

Pyrex Flameware 6 Cup Glass Percolator Coffee Pot The glass in this Pyrex Flame Ware range top coffee pot has a faint blue tint to the body. It stands 7 inches high (6" without the lid) and comes complete with stem, basket & cover, and glass lid. It's marked with the Flameware logo and is numbered 7756-B on the stainless steel band and bottom. The percolators were discontinued, along with all the other Flameware products still in production at the time, in 1979.

The pot is complete with all parts and is in excellent, super clean condition. The only flaw is what looks to be a flaked chip at the base of the glass stem. I say looks to be because it's incredibly smooth, I can see it but can't really feel it on either side. There are no stains, no rust to the metal parts, and the bottom of the pot is virtually free of scratches or burner wear. The percolator was obviously very gently used and very well cared for.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 15408: Japan Moss Rose Coffee Pot, Plates, Cups, Saucers

Click for more detail...

15408

Japan Moss Rose Coffee Pot, Plates, Cups, Saucers Several pieces of vintage Moss Rose porcelain china dinnerware from Japan. Moss Rose is a very old pattern originating in England and France. Many different Japan factories produced it for export to the USA from the 1930s through 1960s. This lot includes an 8 inch coffee (or tea) pot, a sugar bowl, 8" plate, 7-1/2" plate, and three footed teacup and saucer sets plus a fourth saucer. Most of the pieces aren't marked, but one saucer has a paper Made in Japan label, and the larger plate has a red M with crown Japan backstamp. It appears the coffee, sugar, cups and saucers are all from the same maker.

The sugar bowl lid has a chip at the lower back edge (last photo). All of the other pieces are in excellent condition with no damage. Only the plates have some very shallow, faint white stacking marks, barely noticeable. Price is for the set.

Click for more detail...

16525

Universal Copper 1950s Electric Coffee Percolator Copper plated kitchen appliances were all the rage in the 1950s. This electric percolator is the Universal Coffeematic by Landers, Frary & Clark. model B4461. It brews up to 10 cups and stands 11 inches high to the glass perc top. It heats up fine and is in good cosmetic condition with no dents or dings. There are a few minor scuffs and tarnish specks to the copper exterior from normal use and storage. The grounds basket and cover are present, as is the cord. The Bakelite cord plug is chipped at one prong corner. It still works however.

I've had this percolator on display for more than 25 years, but I never actually made coffee in it. You'll want to run some coffee pot cleaner or a vinegar solution through the pot to clean out the interior coffee stains before use.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 13511: Antique Copper German Jugendstil Spirit Kettle

Click for more detail...

13511

Antique Copper German Jugendstil Spirit Kettle This attractive German Jugendstil Art Nouveau copper and brass tea kettle dates to the early 1900s. It was made by the Gebruder Bing Company.

The kettle hangs from its original brass stand and has an alcohol burner at the base. The oval shape gooseneck kettle body has an organic repousse vines or branches decoration. The squared brass handle has a fixed coiled brass clutch in the center. Note the distinctive angled omega shape of the lid finial.

This type of kettle was called a spirit kettle, after the alcohol burners at the base of the holder. Although not marked that I can see, it is well documented as having been made by Gebruder Bing of Nuremberg Germany.

It holds about 3 cups and is 7-3/4" wide from shoulder to spout, 4-1/2 inches across the narrow side, and about 8 inches high to the top of the handle. The brass stand is a little over 14" high.

The burner is missing the wick cover and one post, and it is dented on one side. The base of the kettle has a few honest dings from use (see third to last picture, left side) but they're minor for a 100-plus year old teapot. If you plan to actually use the kettle, I would have the interior relined first. The lining has deteriorated where the hanging bolts attach, and it may contain lead.

It's marked England Pt 191666, which may be a patent number. It holds 32 ounces - 4 full cups, and is 6 inches high to the lid finial by 8-1/2" wide from handle to spout. In excellent condition with no chips or damage, just a little minor crazing a the edges of the drip glaze band.

Click for more detail...

14130

1940s GE Copper Stainless Electric Tea Kettle This very nice late 1940s General Electric copper and stainless steel electric water kettle is the Automatic Speed Kettle model 15K20 and holds up to 2-1/2 quarts. The base, handle, and whistling spout cover are brown Bakelite, the lower half is shiny stainless steel, and the upper part of the pot is solid copper. The white push button on the handle locks in place for easy filling - just depress it again to release.

The heavy duty cord has no splits or brittleness. The stainless steel is bright and shiny with no dings or scratches, though the copper portion could use some polishing. There's one shallow ding to the copper top near the outer edge, I've circled it in picture number three. I filled the kettle with water and plugged it in to make sure it works, and it does heat up quickly.

15570

Sanka Restaurant Instant Coffee Pot By Hall China This 4-3/4 inch streamlined shape individual coffee pot was made by Hall China as a restaurant ware promotion and advertising piece for Sanka Instant Coffee. It's featured in the advertising pieces section of Jo Cunningham's "Collector's Encyclopedia of American Dinnerware". The 1960s orange and brown with white lettering Sanka logo is on both sides of the white pot. The underside is marked "Made Expressly For Sanka Brand Decaffeinated Coffee, Furnished By Minners And Co., Inc. Hall China". I think Minners was a restaurant ware wholesaler. The pot holds about 14 ounces and is in excellent condition with no damage.

Old Dutch Mid Century Modern Copper Coffee Set A Mid Century four piece wood handled coffee and tea set in solid copper from Old Dutch International. Included are a coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, and tray, as well as the original care and use brochure. The tall, slender cone shape coffee pot is 9-1/2 inches to the top of the lid finial by 3-3/4" diameter at the base. The other pot (tea I think?), is 6 by 3-1/2 inches. This pot is likely not original to the set as the wood finial and handle is a bit different in shape and color. The tray is 10-1/4" diameter. The set is in good vintage condition with minor signs of use, including a few shallow scuffs to the tray. The coffee and cream pitcher are marked Made in Portugal, the other pot and the tray aren't marked.

16272

Empire Wizard 42 Cup Electric Coffee Percolator 1960s This 1960s extra large capacity electric coffee maker was purchased from Western Auto under their Wizard brand, but made by Empire Metal Ware of Wisconsin. It will make up to 42 cups and comes complete in the original plain box. It's in good, clean condition, probably used only a few times. I plugged it in and it heated up quickly, but I didn't make coffee. Height is 16 inches to the lid handle, width is about 10-1/2 inches handle to handle. There are some very slight scuffs to the aluminum finish from light use. A slightly ragged care and use brochure is included which contains brewing instructions.

Beehive Rings Deco Copper Tea Kettle for Prop, Display This circa 1930 Art Deco era solid copper tea kettle is too badly worn for use, with several small dents and dings, verdigris, discoloration, scorched bottom, and rust on the black painted metal handle. But it's fine for display or as a prop and the price reflects that. It's 7 inches diameter, dome shape with concentric beehive rings. The whistling stopper has a black wooden knob. Marked on the bottom Solid Copper Made in U.S.A.
