twa2992

TWA Advertising 4 piece China Place Setting This 4 piece place setting advertising for Trans World Airlines (TWA) was made by ABCO International.
Trans World Airlines (TWA) was a major United States-based airline with hubs in St. Louis, New York (JFK), with focus cities in Kansas City, Missouri; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Los Angeles, California. The airline operated from 1930 until it was acquired by American Airlines in 2001. Prior to the buyout, TWA was one of the largest domestic U.S. airlines operating flights to most major U.S. cities. It also had a substantial feeder operation from smaller mid-west cities. Beyond the U.S., TWA had a highly developed European and Middle East network, served mainly from its hub at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Along with Pan American World Airways, it was considered to be a secondary unofficial flag carrier for the United States, and it was the unofficial flag carrier of the U.S. in the 1990s, following Pan Am's collapse.
TWA Airlines LLC flew its last flight on December 1, 2001 with an MD-80 Aircraft (N948TW). The ceremonial last flight was Flight 220 from Kansas City, Missouri, to St. Louis, with CEO Captain William Compton at the controls. The final flight before TWA officially became part of American Airlines was completed between St. Louis and Las Vegas, Nevada, also on December 1, 2001. At 10:00 p.m. CST on that date, employees began removing all TWA signs and placards from airports around the country, replacing them with American Airlines signs.
The set includes a cup and saucer, a cake plate and a sandwich plate all marked with different numbers.
cup-#44-1695 measures 2 3/4 inches tall, 2 1/8 inches across the rim and 1 5/8 inches across the base,
saucer-#44-1694 measures 5 1/8 inches in diameter,
cake plate-#44-1698 measures 6 3/4 inches in diameter and
sandwich plate-#44-1697 measures 8 1/8 inches in diameter.
All pieces are in very good + condition without chips, cracks or fleabites.
An addition to any Airline China Collection.

braniff3050

Braniff International Airlines Knife by Oneida This silver plated knife advertising Braniff International Airlines is marked: Braniff. I believe it was made by Oneida Hotel Plate but will have to let the buyer decide.
Braniff International Airways was an American airline that existed from 1928 until 1982. It operated in the midwestern and southwestern U.S., South America, Panama, and in its later years, Asia and Europe. The airline ceased operations on May 12, 1982, due to factors including escalating fuel prices, aggressive and unsustainable expansion, and fierce competition following changes that resulted from the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978.
In very good condition it measures 6 5/8 inches long and 5/8 inch wide.
I have 10 of these knives in stock. Price quoted is for each one ordered.

Click for more detail...

seagrams2187

Seagrams VO Canadian Whisky Key Chain w/Phone Book This key chain collectible advertising Seagram's V.O. Canadian Whisky has an added surprise, a small phone book tucked inside the hard plastic case.
The Seagram Company traces its history to 1916, when Sam Bronfman opened his first mail order liquor business in Montreal, Canada, after purchasing the Bonaventure Liquor Store Company. In the mid-1930s, Seagram launched Seagram's VO Canadian Whiskey and Seagram's 7 Crown American Whiskey. In honor of the 1939 Canadian grand tour by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, Bronfman blended 600 whiskey samples to create Crown Royal.
Made of hard plastic the decal and case have some wear from laying in a drawer for many years and one side has a piece of scotch tape which I did not want to disturb as I have tried to show in my pictures but the phone book is in never used condition. It measures 4 1/2 inches long, including the chain and 3/4 inch wide.
An addition to any Distillery Advertising Collection.
SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please contact me and thank you for looking.

Click for more detail...

campbells2834

Campbell's Soups Kitchen Collection 1999 This great kitchen collection advertising Campbell's Soups is marked on the bottom: 1999 Trademarks Licensed by Campbell Soup Company / All Rights Reserved.
In 1869, fruit merchant Joseph Campbell and icebox manufacturer Abraham Anderson started the Anderson & Campbell Preserve Company in Camden, New Jersey. By 1877, the partners realized each had different visions for the company. Joseph Campbell bought Andersonís share and expanded the business to include ketchup, salad dressing, mustard, and other sauces. Ready-to-serve Beefsteak Tomato Soup became a Campbellís best seller. In 1894, Joseph Campbell retired and Arthur Dorrance took over as company president. Three years later, soup history was made when Arthur Dorrance reluntly hired his nephew John Dorrance. Soups were inexpensive to make but very expensive to ship. Dorrance realized that if he could remove soup's heaviest ingredient water, he could create a formula for condensed soup and slash the price of soup from $.30 to $.10 per can. By 1922, soup was such an integral part of the company presence in America, that Campbellís formally accepted Soup into its name.
New in it's original package, that has a dinged corner and measures 11 3/4 inches high and 14 1/4 inches wide, the collection consists of a fully photographed recipe collection book, a 50 page magnetized shopping list, 12 blank recipe cards, a 50 page notepad and designer refrigerator magnet.
An addition to any Campbell's Soup Collection.
