Elegant pair of candlesticks that were originally part of a console set called "Memphis" made by Central Glass Co. in 1923, and featured in Hazel Weatherman's Depression Glass #2 book. The holder tops were originally covered with gold but now, very little remains on the top surface although there is still quite a bit remaining on the undersides. Directly under the top gold and in a 1 1/8" wide circular band on the bases, is an application of pretty, translucent, daffodil yellow enamel. The pair stand 9" high with a 5 1/2" diameter base and each of the mold-blown crystal pieces weighs-in at a substantial 1 1/4 lbs. The two are in excellent condition ... no chips, nicks, scratches, or 'flea bites', and with the appropriate amount of normal bottom wear. With the clear stem and delicate yellow accent, these would go well with any setting. |
