This is a wonderful hand made wood and sterling silver serving spoon. It is marked M R, 925, Sterling, Mexico on it. According to a book by Fred Rezazadeh, MR is thought to have been active between 1940 and 1960 and was a designer and silversmith in the Emma Melendez shop. This spoon has a dark wooden handle which looks like rosewood which has been carved into the head of an eagle. The eagle has red beads for eyes. The spoon measures 12 inches long. It is in excellent condition with no problems that I can find other than it may need polishing. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for visiting my store. |
