Manufacturer: Derby
Derby Blue Feathers cup & saucer. Porcelain. England. c. 1800 - 1825. This wonderful cup & saucer from the famed Derby factory is beautifully hand painted with what appears to be a feather or stylized leaf design. The feathers are done in cobalt & a lighter shade of blue outlined in gold. Further decoration includes gilt leaves, lines & rings and a medallion of gilt & cobalt in the center of the saucer. All on a white ground. The saucer is deep as was typical for the time. The cup has a loop handle with spurs & thumb rest. CONDITION: Excellent - cup pings; saucer has fine all over crazing; some light wear to gilt in spots. Just gorgeous! |
