Manufacturer: as described
The scene shows a woman in native country dress spinning wool or cotton into thread or yarn. Wonderful mottled muted green and gold glazes in the background. Signed with a conjoined "I B" in the lower left corner. This well executed tile was done in the cuerda seca method (aka wax resist). The tile measures 8" x 3 3/4" - with the frame it measures 8 5/8" x 4 1/2". I have 2 other tiles done by the same artist in stock. Done on a red clay blank - there are no backmarks - age and country of origin are unknown. Generally excellent condition. (#T-1475-E)
