Circa: 1800's Condition: Good Manufacturer: not marked
This is a very nice, antique hand made, hand forged wing divider (compass) for metal working layout work. Most likely made in the early-mid 1800's, it may be older than that. It is in good working condition, with no rust, good working thread screw to hold the setting in position, and good sharp points. It can lay out a 24" circle, no problem, it measures 11" long overall. The pivot joint is in good shape, (even though there is some rather rough looking metal material in that area) still plenty snug at the joint, so you can still use this antique or display it. A nice primitive metal working layout tool!
