Circa: 1930-50's Condition: Good++ Manufacturer: K-D MFG. CO. LANCASTER PA. U.S.A.
Offering this very rare set of mini pliers in a leather/vinyl pouch with 4 pockets to hold each of the 4 antique pliers. The set includes the No. 6, 7, 8, & 9 pliers, all are about 4.25" long overall, two (No. 6 & 7) are slip joint pliers, No. 6 is missing the pivot nut and pin bolt, but the No. 7 nut and bolt will fit it, if you want to use it instead. We did contact K-D about the parts needed, but as expected, these models have long since been discontinued and there is no part available for them. Each pliers is marked "K-D MFG. CO." and the corresponding model number. All are clean and in good++ condition, no rust or damage, other than the missing parts mentioned earlier. The pouch is in good condition, with some minor wear, but the stitching is still holding together well. It has a flap and folds in half to a pocket size when closed and snapped of only 3" x 5". As you may know K-D Mfg. Co. dates back to the Ford Model A period, with one of their first patents on a valve lifter for that early car. Since then, K-D continue to specialize in automotive tools and test equipment, so we assume that these pliers were designed for small confined areas on a car, like the distributor for example. A very rare set, in very nice shape overall! |
