Offering this nice 26" long patented plumb & level, marked "STANLEY NEW BRITAIN CONN. U.S.A. NO. 0" on the level vial brass plate cover, and the logo is the V-shaped logo. Both the level and plumb glass vials are in good working order. This one is has good round shaped brass cover plates, and the good rectangular brass top plate. The brass hardware is all there, and in good shape, with some minor tarnishing, a few edge dings, looks good with the exception of one top plate crack as seen in the picture. The crack is tight and matches smoothly. The cherry wood is nice, with some corner wear and dings mostly, a few other small dings noted on the flat surfaces, and a one minor grain seperations at one end noted, as you would expect in a level almost 100 years old, but is not cracked, and has a nice polished finish. It sets flat end to end, a little bit of rock side to side, useable as is, and is not warped. A nice quality antique level! |
