The Mascotte pattern is originally attributed to Ripley & Co. c. 1874 and by U. S. Glass c. 1891. Offered for sale is an attractive Egyptian shape apothecary jar with the original lid. These jars were reproduced by Tiffin Glass in the 1950's. The jar has excellent quality and shows age, but because the reproductions are over 50 years old themselves, it is not possible for me to tell whether or not this is an original or reproduction. The jar measures 9 1/2" high to the top of the lid and 4 3/4" wide.
Both lid and jar are in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or discolorations.
