This lovely late Victorian era antique lamp base was likely a kerosene parlor lamp originally. Someone gave it a newer socket gallery fitting at the top to convert it to electric (it does work). It has a brass plated cast iron base and cast brass font crown. The opal glass font or body has hand painted poppy and daisy wildflowers decoration, a different view on each side. Embossed layered leaves painted pink decorate the shoulder of the font, with a smaller band of white leaves at the base.
The lamp is about 14 inches high to the top of the gallery by 9 inches across the base. The cord and plug are obviously not original but it lights up fine. The glass needs a better cleaning than what I gave it, particularly in the leaf crevices.
