Manufacturer: Vintage Cookie Cutters
This is an antique or vintage aluminum cookie cutter with a green wood handle likely from the 1930s or 1940s, although we don't know the age for certain. It is in the shape of a heart. It measures about 2 3/8 inches wide, 2 3/8 inches long and sits about 1 1/2 inches in height to the top of the wood handle.
While the handle is fully attached to the old cookie cutter and will not come loose, it is not tight, having a lot of "play room". The handle does not sit upright when this piece is sitting on a table, but at an angle as shown in the images. If you shake the cookie cutter holding the handle, the base aluminum portion wobbles or shakes. The outer edges of the cutter are vertically ridged or have a tight scalloping.
The old cookie cutter came out of a home and is in vintage used shape. It is not mint and was likely used a good bit in baking cookies. The top aluminum surface is not flat as when it was made, but is concaved on one side (the left side of the heart) from push use, also having a topside dent near the point of the heart and a side curved inward dent on the ridged left side not far from the heart point. You can see this looking down on the top or looking on the underside, which shows a curved ridge from pressure use. The aluminum portion has lots of expected wear from scratches, scuffs, dark dots/tarnish dots, rubbed spots and other signs of wear. The wood handle is not chipped, but has much wear on the green paint color via scuffs, marks, scrapes, darkening, etc. All supportive of the age of this piece and part of the great vintage look.
A neat cookie cutter to complete your set of playing card symbol cookie cutters, or just a nice addition to any cookie cutter or baking utensil collection or an overall collection of kitchen utensils with green wood handles. With the holes in the aluminum top, a crafty person could also string wire and hang this as an ornament on a Christmas tree as a fun addition.
