Manufacturer: Vintage Cookie Cutters
This is an antique or vintage aluminum cookie cutter with a red wood handle likely from the 1930s or 1940s, although we don't know the age for certain. It is circular or a circle in shape, measuring about 2 3/8 inches in diameter and sits about 1 7/8 inches in height to the flat top of the taller wood handle (which measures about 1 3/16 inches in length by itself). This vintage cutter is just a circle shape not a donut one in that it never had an intentional extra smaller circle center part on the underside from what we can see and how it is made.
The wood handle is firmly attached to the aluminum part (there is no "play" to this handle vs. the base as seen with some of the other cookie cutters). The outer edges of the cutter are vertically ridged or have a tight scalloping.
This old cookie cutter came out of a home and was likely used with some flaws, but is in nice overall shape for its age. While this doesn't jump out at you, on close look you can see that the topside aluminum is not absolutely flat and has been pushed in slightly in the handle area from use...not largely indented, but some is there. You can see this slight indent when viewing from the side and underside, and when viewed from some sides you can see that the handle doesn't sit absolutely straight, but is slightly tilted/angled. The aluminum shows age/use/wear via lots of scratches, rubbed spots, some pin dots/pit dots/dark dots (but not bad), some light spotting, other general wear, but nothing unexpected for an old used piece. The red wood handle is in nice overall shape with some wear, including a few tiny line and dot indents/scrapes, some dark spots/darkening (particularly one small one near the top side rim), some dot & scrape wear to the flat top, etc. general wear, but not bad.
Fun cookie cutter that would make a nice addition to any cookie cutter or baking utensil collection or an overall collection of kitchen utensils with red wood handles. With the holes in the aluminum top, a crafty person could also string wire and hang this as an ornament on a Christmas tree as a fun addition.
Please note that we have other cookie cutters and many other kitchen items listed separately for sale. If you wish to purchase more than one, please e-mail us before placing the order since the shipping information has been inputted for a purchase of just one and will not calculate the savings you would get when purchasing more than one shipped together in the same package (we will need to handle this for you). |
