Manufacturer: Vintage Cookie Cutters
This is an antique or vintage aluminum cookie cutter with a red wood handle likely from the 1930s or 1940s, although we don't know the age for certain. It is circular or a circle in shape, measuring about 2 1/4 inches in diameter and sits about 1 5/8 inches in height to the pointed top of the wood handle (which measures about 1 1/16 inches in length by itself). This vintage cutter is just a circle shape not a donut one in that it never had an intentional extra smaller circle center part on the underside from what we can see and how it is made.
While the handle is fully attached to the old cookie cutter and will not come loose, it is not absolutely tight and has a little bit of "play room". If you shake the cookie cutter holding the handle, the base aluminum portion shakes a little bit, but not bad. The outer edges of the cutter are vertically ridged or have a tight scalloping.
The old cookie cutter came out of a home, shows some wear from use, but is in overall nice vintage used shape. There are no chips, cracks, bends, etc., and the top aluminum surface is flat, not indented. There is a small spot of what we think may be part of an original brown paper sales label stuck to the topside aluminum near the handle base on one side. The aluminum topside has lots of surface wear including scratches, scuffs, rubbed spots, dark dots/tarnish dots/dark spotting (also on aluminum sides), discoloration dots/spotting, and other general use wear. The aluminum underside, however, looks very clean while still showing wear/use wear via scratches, a few dark dots, etc. The wood handle is in very nice overall shape, with some indent lines/scars in the wood, some dark spots/dark dotting, etc., other general light wear, but nothing bad at all.
Fun cookie cutter that would make a nice addition to any cookie cutter or baking utensil collection or an overall collection of kitchen utensils with red wood handles. With the holes in the aluminum top, a crafty person could also string wire and hang this as an ornament on a Christmas tree as a fun addition.
Please note that we have other cookie cutters and many other kitchen items listed separately for sale. If you wish to purchase more than one, please e-mail us before placing the order since the shipping information has been inputted for a purchase of just one and will not calculate the savings you would get when purchasing more than one shipped together in the same package (we will need to handle this for you). |
