Circa: 1920's-40's Condition: Good++ Manufacturer: not marked
This is a good useable antique cross peen and parellel peen hammer set with good handles. This style hammers have become so rare these days. Very unique. The possible uses for these hammers ranges from machinist, tinners, and saddle makers work. The small paralled head hammer is about 5 oz. and the larger cross peen hammer is 8 oz (laying only the head on the scale. The head is 3" on the smaller and 3.75" on the larger. We note no rust or damage, the heads are very well attached to the handles and the handles are very solid, with a nice finish and a few minor stains (most likely original handles). We rate both of these hammer in very good condition overall. These hammer heads are sometimes referred to as a TINNER'S RIVETING HAMMER in the old tool catalogs we have to reference antique tool types. A good user set of (2) hammers! |
