These transitional metal bookends have elements of both the Arts and Crafts and Art Deco movements. They're hand wrought and hand hammered in brass and steel, 5 inches high by 4-1/2" wide. The center brass spikes have embossed serpent-entwined swords. The base metal has an applied dark patina. The underlying silver color shows through on the bottoms and backs. Other than normal light wear from age and use, there are no issues. The bookends are unsigned.
