This is a very nice 4 ounce rawhide mallet marked on one side of the handle "GREEN TWEED & CO. NEW YORK N.Y. U.S.A.". There is some other stamped information on the other side of the handle from the name, but it's small and hard to read, I took a photo of it. On this model, the raw hide is rolled tightly and held in place by two metal rivots that are blended smooth to the 1.25" round. The handle is very firmly mounted and in very good used condition. GREEN TWEED & CO. dates back to WWII era at least as they made military tools during that time. A well know quality tool maker! |
